Diode?
u must've mean THERMAL cut off fuse?
The fuse cut off power to HEAT up ur rice cooker, changing it w/ the same temp code will fix ur rice cooker!

  • Anonymous Apr 18, 2011

My sharp rice cooker doesnt ON/heat recently. upon checking I suspect the thermal fuse was the culprit since I got no continuity. I bypass all the circuit and straightaway connect the heating element to the AC supply and it's heating. I have read somewhere that the heating element should close to 0 ohm, but mine about 115 Ohm. is my heating element is ok on that reading?

  • Anonymous Apr 22, 2011

The heating element has resistance to make it work as it heats up!
The coil is still good! Check on the contact points and if ur rice cooker is electronic, check the POWER TRANSISTORS!

Rice cooker lid replacement?

if you still have the reciept the best thing that i would suggest is to take it back to the store or call the manufacturer and they will send you out another under warranty cause there should be a 1 year warranty on the unit.

I lost the instruction manual for my Rival 6 cup rice steamer. I need the ratio of water to rice.

Welcome to FixYa. My name is Max and I'm the expert who chose your situation to fix. If you find my solution satisfactory, please award me a "FixYa" rating. Now for your question.

All of the rice cooker makers advise: a 2:1 ratio That is, 2 cups of water for every cup of rice.

Thanks again for using FixYa!

Ratio rice to water?

It is a 2 to 1 ratio. It doesn't matter about which cup you use as long as you use two times the water to the rice. Obviously don't overfill the rice cooker.
