My Frigidaire FMV156DCC microwave stopped cooking mid-cycle a few days ago. I've reset the breaker switch and unplugged and replugged it in. All the buttons work, and so does the clock, fan, light and timer. The cook function does not. I can add time and press start, and the interior light comes on but there is no cooking or tray rotation.

SOURCE: sANYO EM-D9550. Turntable turns when off but not when cooking.

That's sounds pretty strange!

Since I don't have any service data on Sanyos, I'd have to speculate.

I would guess that one scenario that could cause it would be if the turntable were turned off via the control panel, but there was a switch or switch mount problem.

I would refer you to their support people:

SOURCE: microwave not cooking

I would say you have a bad door switch or door switch mount, or your door is loose or out of alignment.

But since it's new, and under warranty, I would contact Goldstar (LG) customer service to have them repair it free.

Contact LG at 1-800-243-0000 or http://us.lgservice.com

SOURCE: Lights, fan,etc work but turntable does not rotate and oven does not cook.

Sounds like the table motor may have an issue. You might want to consult you local repair depot for an estimate. Sometimes the repairs are more than the appliance...beware!

SOURCE: Microwave light bulb out

This is simple, and "FixYa" technical staff has clearly not looked at our model.

Take off the vent across the top (three long screws) to expose a single screw over the keypad.

Remove the single screw, and the whole keypad consile will lift up and off, likely hanging by a plastic tab/support on the bottom.

Now you can twist the light bulb plug to remove it from the support structure, change the bulb, and replace all that you've done.

Simple.

Why has my frigidaire microwave (model PLEB30M9ECE) stopped beeping. It still cooks but no longer beeps

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire microwave, model# PLEB30M9ECE, is cooking, but has stopped beeping. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Sometimes there can be a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. Restore power and try any cooking cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

No power to microwave

Hello

Check the Power Cord

Verify that the power cord is properly connected the outlet; the plug might have been removed to make way for another appliance. Do not connect the microwave to an outlet via an extension cord or plug adapter; the oven must be directly connected to an outlet.
Switch the Outlet on

Turn the outlet on, if possible, using the switch on the wall behind the counter or on the plug itself. Some microwaves have a separate power switch that must be in the correct position before you can begin cooking.
Reset the Oven

Unplug the oven, wait a few seconds and reconnect the power. A power surge could have temporarily rendered the oven inoperable. The oven should start up as normal when you connect the plug to the outlet.
Check the Fuses and Breakers

See that the fuse or breaker protecting the oven's circuit is still active. Replace the fuse if it has blown, or reset the breaker to restore power to the oven. Stop using the microwave if it repeatedly blows fuses or trips breakers.

Frigidaire microwave fmv156dcc the timer goes thru the timing motion but does not cook.

Many of the newer microwaves are fused in the cooking portion of the unit. There is usually
A ceramic automotive style fuse in a holder inside the case of the microwave. Be sure
to unplug unit before attempting to replace this item (about 2 dollars at an appliance
parts store or even radio shack). The volts and amps are stamped on each end, normally
250V (250 volts) and 5A (5 amps) Be aware that the capacitors can hold quite a
residual charge similar to an electric fence, so be mindful of them.
(can shaped items with leads coming to them usually metal). Hope this helps.

We have a Frigidaire FMV156DCC that is about 3+ years old. as of last night when the door is closed and the time is selected one of 3 things happen (or doesnt happen) 1. is nothing, just a dark...

I would replace the door switches and set up the door gap to 1/8" just enough to alow for a little play.
Setting the door square is acheived by slackening the lower door hinge and re tightening it when the door is square.
Hope that helps.

Microwave Buttons Not Working

The cycling of your electricity probably didn't hurt it.

Chances are moisture or grease has gotten into the controls. That can ruin the keypad.

The way to prevent that is to be sure you have the microwave's hood vent exhaust fan running whenever you are cooking on the stove top.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace the keypad yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
