Not recieiving tv channels

Are you talking about digital, analogue or satalitte channels? Have you ran the "menu/channel/ariel or auto tune" procedure If yes and channels were found; have you tried "source input" button o your remote? Have you tried "menu/support self diagnosis or contact samsung? If all else fails contact samsung support - who I've found to be extremely helpful. Good luck

Have had digital installed and cannot get tv to work through digital. Any advice?

Hello
Thei Orion model Tv is not equipped with a digital tuner inside. There is only an analogue tuner fitted and only analogue channels can be received by this set. To get digital channels, you have to buy one settop box, which can convert digital signals to analogue signals. In short, a Digital to Analogue Converter should be bought, if you want to get digital channels. OK.

How do I , or in fact can I, tune the DVD recorder such that it can see the digital TV stations - all I get at the moment is analogue channels

can you receive digital channels through your tv (if it is a DAB TV)? The reason i ask is that you may not have a strong enough signal to receive digital channels. Try taking the dvd recorder to a friends house and plug it in there to see if it will tunethe stations in. IF it does try it back at yoursto see if it will pick up the channels if it breaks up the picture then you need to upgrade your ariel

I'm trying to set up a super nintendo to the TV and I am having trouble.

not 100% sure on the problem you are having but i will give a rundown on how it should be set up,

1.) there is usually a TV ariel style 'T' Junction just put this inbetween the signal from your tv arial and the tv itself or if you dont have an arial just plug it straight into the TV.

2.) make sure your tv is set to its analogue tv mode, NOT the digital tv mode as this will not work

3.) Once on this mode it should be good to go, if you still cant see the signal change the tv channel, it could be up to channel 9, if i remember rightly thats where mine used to sit,

Hope this helped :)

Hi i have hisence 42 inch tv will not tune in keeps saying no signal yet me old tv is fine

Hi there
I am assuming your new TV is now Digital. If so, it will be looking for a different signal to the old TV which was probably analogue. You may need a aerial upgrade/diagnostic to determine if you are recieving a digital signal. Or you can tune in the analogue channels, by switching the new TV to analogue, through the inputs/menu, and then i suggest autotune.
Hope this helps

I do not get any channel when i search even though all the connections are ok

Is this an analogue or digital tv tuner card.
If it is not a digital tv tuner card you wont get any channels.
UK has gone fully digital now and you need a digital receiver(freeview)
If it is a digital receiver you may just have a poor signal from your ariel

I have installed a digital ariel but am unable to get any channels. Keep getting message no signal. The ariel works with other tv in house

You may need a digital booster when sharing 1 aerial.
They are quite cheap (£5 on e-bay is the cheapest I've seen) and easy to fit.
Also the coaxial cable can make a differance, you really need shielded and with as few joints as possible.
I hope this helps.
P.S. try tuning with just the problem set connected to the aerial direct.

Recieving no digital channels in my LCD TV

hi there alot of the updates for the system should automaticly download via ariel to the tv to keep you up to date some times if the strenght of the signal isnt srong enough then you might not get the update they send out , one thing i have found is that if you use an ariel booster then this makes the signal stronger this helps particularly if you have more than one tv set up with the same ariel, you could try unpluging all ariels to other tvs making sure the ariel lead you are using has no conections in it as this also gives you loss of signal if there are multiple conections in the lead runing from the ariel to your tv set hope this helps some

Cheers ;)

No digital channels

Hi quinny 1982,

The first thing to check do is look in the manual on how to do a factory reset.

Once you've done that look at this page on how to check the signal strength the TV is receiving. Anything less than 50% and most tuners will not display a picture.

If the signal strength is okay then try another auto tune.

If your still having a problem then I'd suggest you you might have a faulty unit. However, a lot the time companies like to blame your reception area, TV Antenna (Ariel) or cable length or quality. Yes, old coaxial cable used for analogue TV is not very good when used with digital equipment (not a surprise)!

From what you've described, if you can only get a mono signal I'd be surprised it that's actually a digital channel.

Don't forget to check your Antenna connectors.

Hope this is helpful.

Best of luck.

this is because most new lcd tv's have a poor tuner built in and require a stronger ariel, to pull in the analogue or digital signal. Check that your ariel is freeview capable whether using freview or not, as these ariels are better at pulling in the signal, or do what i have had to do and buy a mains plug in signal booster from Asda for about £6.00, this did the trick, especially if you don't want to replace an ariel costing about £30.00
