that the correct model. We're not too technically inept but the old switch we had ordered previously we never could figure out how to install.

For a stove, is that correct? Is the model number of the stove you have the JED8430 and you want to know how to install a fan switch in it, correct?

Please confirm before I help you out here... want to make sure I have it correct.

Just reply to my answer here and I will be right back with you.

Thanks,
Tim

I see, I have located the part here but I am not sure how to go about explaining how to put it in to you. I assume you know where the old one is, correct, you just need to get access to it, disconnect it and solder in the new one....

Just installed a new Jenn-Air Model JED8430. Burners work well but fan will not turn on. Two black wires and a ground coming out of my wall....presumedley no neutral. Any suggestions

I suspect that the two black wires were attached to a wall switch or a wall times, along with the ground.

Check to see if you have a hot wire there. then temporarily wire the two black wires together and see if the fan comes on, i believe it will.

Stove is tripping circuit breaker Two burners stopped working properly (only get slightly warm). Switched the coils to the other side and the other side is still working. Looked underneath and saw that...

if it is an old stove i would say have it serviced/checked over. if it is a newer stove i am guessing the circuit breaker predates it and is rated for the old stove therefore you will need to have a larger circuit breaker installed (by a licenced electrician)

Jenn-Air JED8430BDB blowing fuse following ceiling fan work ...OUTside!

electricians do a couple of years learning the trade
DIY people seldom get it right and generally hurt themselves or others by not getting it right
you say you installed the fans and all worked well but the cook top is now blowing the circuit breaker What caused the light switch to short
it is logical to say that somewhere in your wiring you have used a power or ground circuit that should not be used and that is causing overload or ground leakage problems
before you try fixing the problem , you have to know exactly what happened and to get that information you will have to get in an accredited electrician to explain what was done wrong
sorry that you will not appreciate the answer but there are too many people below ground because they did not recognize the simple fact that electricity and gas is not a diy domain

Fan Switch broke off Jenn-Air CVE3400 Radiant Cooktop

I am wondering if you just need to replace the knob then perhaps you don't need to take much apart.

Is this a knob that has an allen screw in the side that unscrews to let it come off or is it a friction fit.

If the knob is so small that you can't get it off some times wrapping a thin rag around it gives you the way to tug it off. If it is the whole switch you are fixing then I see why you need to take lots of things apart. If found the installation manual online and that might give you a clue to how it is installed in the counter to take it back out if you need to get to the insides. I am not sure what you need help with so please let me know more if this was not enough.
