I recently downloaded two optional updates for Startup Windows 7 onto my ASUS EeePC 1005. Following download I was requested to restart my PC to complete the installation. Upon restart, I had no display for about five minutes, then the startup screen display flashed on and went blank as soon as I touched the touchpad. That's all I have - long (5 mjnutes) periods of blank screen followed by periods of startup screen display that goes blank as soon as i touch the touchpad or mouse.

Try starting the PC in safe mode (press F8 as it starts) and then restore your PC to a date before you installed the updates.If that fails you must use your windows 7 disk to repair the system or just install it again.....

Which windows OS are you using? windows xp, 7 or 8?
Anyway the problem might be corrupted installation CD. If you install windows on other computer using this CD, so if CD is OK, then
start your laptop and press F8 repeatedly until Windows Advanced Boot Options appears. Then choose automatic restart on system failure. This option will allow you to see Blue Screen Of Death and to understand what causes a problem.

Remember, almost every program you install wants to startup at boot, which, in most cases isn't necessary. You can configure what you need at start, use CCLEANER, TOOLS, STARTUP.

Please go to the system tray and look for the "EeePC Tray" icon. Right click it to enable the camera.

If no success, go to BIOS (tapping F2 at startup) to see if the webcam is enabled there?

My Webcam is built in and my computer is not recognising it. i went into its software and it told me to try to turn on integrated webcam. i am using windows 7 starter and i need my webcam.

I have installed windows 7 in my asus k40ij notebook recently and I dont have drivers for it.

Make sure that your Internet connection is working.
Access "Windows Update" within Windows 7.
It should interact with Microsoft's web-site, and offer to download the correct device-drivers.

click start> control panel> power options> whAtever is highlighted click on change plan settings> change advanced power settings

new pop up window
click on +hard disk> turn off hard disk drive after> settings: never

click on +sleep> set everything to never

click on +display> set to never

Best thing to do is run a bio update, also download the Service pack 3and put it onto a usb stick as XP is a nightmare with drivers with out the latest updates.

Check the hotspot to see what kind of IP address it is using [are they manually configured, or is there a DHCP server that assigns IP addresses] 2. Check your 701 and make sure its network connectivity conforms with the settings on the hotspot
