How do i get my printer from offline mode back to online mode

  • Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  • Pull up 'My Computer' then click on 'Control Panel'. From the Control Panel, click on 'Printers and Faxes'. You will then see a list of Printers connected to the PC.

  • Delete pending print jobs to make sure that the correct document will be printed later and for you not to waste paper. Double click on the printer that you want to use, and a window will appear showing you a list of pending print jobs. Simply click on 'Cancel All Documents' from the 'Printer Menu'.

  • After you have deleted all pending print jobs, right click again on the printer icon and choose 'Use Printer Online'.

  • Try printing a test file, if it doesn't work the first time, reboot the PC.

How to cancel pending printing work?

Go to Control Panel---> Printers-----> Double-Click on your printer, highlight the job by clicking on it and Right-Click on the job and select "Cancel" or "Cancel All Documents." You can also click do the same by clicking the 'Document" option on the toolbar. If the documents will not cancel. You will need to uninstall the printer and its drivers and reinstall them making sure to install the drivers before connecting the printer and only connecting the printer when prompted to by the installation wizard.

Printer won't print; pending documents stay in queue.

Possibly, the printer driver is corrupt or wrong version, printer cable is bad or not plugged, printer on standby (not online), or defective printer.

Do a self-test print on your printer. Most printer has self-test print function, look into your model's documentation. If the self-test prints, then more likely your driver issue. Uninstall the printer driver and reinstalling should resolve it. Goto Start->Control Panel->Printers. You can remove and install printers from there.

Wont let me cancel a pending document

I used to have the same issue. It happened on five different occasions. I tired all kinds of steps to fix it and none worked. Finally, my daughter fixed it for me by accident. She tripped over the plug to the computer. After it restarted, I canceled the document, and it worked perfectly. After that, i knew what to do. Hope this helps@

Will not print

We will experience this issue if the documents are pending on the printer icon or if the printer icon is paused. Check the status of the printer icon in control panel and clear all the pending documents and make it online if it is offline and then try to print.
