This too was my problem... ended up googling my heart out trying to find the solution to this problem and found a blog posting
"AL2671W Stuck in Standby Hey - I fixed a TV! It' s been a long time actually since I did something useful for someone. I got asked to look at an Acer AL2671W LCD TV. Bought for about £500 five years ago, and that was cheap then, recently it has regularly refused to come out of standby. Now it is stuck in Standby and won't work. So where do you start? Google of course! Some results showed that this was a common fault on these TV's. One guy in a forum said 'easy fix, replace C280 100uF 16V on the main board'. Good enough of a clue to take a look. You have to firstly remove the SCART socket block before the back will come off and then the inner metal cover over the PSU, audio card and main card as mentioned before. It looks just like a mini ATX card. It is a multi layer, double sided PEC with surface mount and traditional components. Bad news though, no C280 to be found. I buzzed through the front power switch to check it wasn't stuck and traced the cabling to the socket on the main board. Very close by the socket is C380, this is an electrolytic 100uF 16V. Too much of a coincidence? Anyway worth a punt I thought so I changed it for an 100uF 40V I think it was and re-assembled the TV. It worked! the TV now comes out of standby and has been returned to its owners. Result! Posted by andychamb"
I end up finding an old ATI card (since it was unsupported with win7) that had the same value capacitor and replaced C380, located around the centre, bottom left corner (the left one). works like a dream.
Easy fix. Replace C280 on the main board. 100uF 16v
This cap is also responsible for loss of tront panel controls and/or remote commands.
Hi
i have a problem in my acre al 2671w its working but within one mint only sound ok no display .remont controol is ok cheenls also change .only sound without display .can anybody hellp me please .
Hi every one.
I have same problem with this TV. When I switch it on using the power supply switch (the one incorporated in the power supply unit) I can see all the voltages (5, 12 and 24 V) and the front led shine yellow. I can not turn on the TV using the main power buton (the one at the front) or the remote control. I replaced all the capacitors in the main board (20 100uF/16V and 8 470uF/16V), but the TV still remains in stand-by.
* Is it normal that the browm cable is at 5 V when the TV is in stand-by?
* I confirm that the power switch works. I saw the voltage at the input of the microprocessor (microchip PIC16F7) pin 16 going down when I pushed the button (from 3.75 Volts to 0.05 V). I saw that no pin changes (I am using a polymeter). Is it possible that the micro processor is not doing its job?
Any hint will be really aprecciated.
Regards
Guillermo
Hi Deano 1690
I saw ur answere on this above in regards to fixing an Acer AL2671W. Your advise was to replace C280 100uF 16V Cap. I'm having trouble finding this on the main board. Could you possibly point me in the right directions? also, where am i likely to find schematics or service manual for this unit?
Many Thanks

Im stuck in s/b
Mines also stuck in standby did you get yours fixed in the end?
Almost all the electrolytic capacitors of 100uF 16v are low cost bad quality and have high ESR, which causes oscillations on the small linear regulators on video board. Measure the regulated voltages with an oscilloscope and see which is oscillating, change the correspondent 100uF 16v. I have to change 5. Still have a problem, the eeprom information is corrupt, need a code for service menu or the file to write into the eeprom.
