There is a pressure regulator that is contained in the same housing as the on off switch. Take the housing cover off and see if there is a problem with the mechanics on the switch or the seal is bad.
that (more than likely) is the starter, but it also may have hit a bad commutator bar... turn off power, turn flywheel 1/8 (or so) of a turn, turn on power.
if it starts, purchase new motor because the commutator/brushes are dirty or shorted.
Hi
your pressure switch is bad. so it isnt cutting off the compressor. the part number is N003306SV and can be obtained from Dewalt on Servicenet. Detail
The right guage is the actual tank pressure. The left guage is the pressure for the air hose. If you turn the adjustment dial the air pressure guage on the left will go up or down. You should be able to go to the dewalt website and find an owners manual for this compressor. I personally own this compressor and it is a good one.
I suggest trying to adjust the pressure switch, however, it is more likely that the pressure switch is bad and will need replaced. These can be purchased at most hardware stores or www.mcmaster.com. After you install it, you will need to readjust it to the pressure it was originally set to so as to not overpressurize the tank. Overpressure is very dangerous so do not use the compressor until it is repaired.
Best wishes!
