Hi, i am a culinary arts teacher. we bought the waring BB160 and used it for the first time today to make milkshakes. the canaster does not fit snuggly on the base. it can be shifted to the left or to the right. is this the way it is supposed to be? Sue Snyder

I am not sure what you mean by "can be shifted" but the model does not have a locking mechanism to the base so the jar assembly can be easily removed once the mixture is done. As long as one does not take the jar assembly off while the machine is running (which could ruin the coupling and blade) you should be ok.

Can you remove the mixer part to wash

Before you force it and break something can you not contact Salton in your own country and ask them? Until then if you buzz it up with clean warm water immediately after each use that should keep it respectable.
