I powered up my Power Edge 2500 server yesterday after being off since February 2009 due to plant shutdown. It booted successfully and I test run my applications and everything was OK. I left the server on over night, but this morning I saw the message bellow on the monitor; Power Edge 2500 Embedded Server Management Firmwaqre revision 5.43 Primary System backplane controller firmware revision 1.29 1000 MHZ processors bus 133 MHz L2 cache 256K Advanced Dell Power Edge Expandable Raid Controller 3/Bi BIOS V2.5-0 [Build 2991] (c) 1998-200 Adaptec, Inc. Press <Ctrl><A> for configuration Utility Waiting for array controller #0 to start. Fatal Error. Controller Monitor Failed. Array Controller not started. Press any key to continue. When I pressed anykey, I had BIOS not Installed as one of the messages scrolling through the monitor. Now the message I get is; No boot device available- strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility. and when F1 is pressed, the same message keeps displaying. What should I do?

Power down thy system,pull the hard drive half way out remove all cards from the slots power up see if you go pass the processor etc,if not go into the system setup f2,integrated devices turn them all.see if you go further if you do go back in turn the devices on one by one,do not put the hard drives in yet.wait until you turn the scsi controler assuming you are using the integrated card.If you still cant the on board raid controler uses a raid dim if you can change thi note it must be the same type.

Sounds like the RAID controller has failed. I would replace this first as RAID controllers are less expensive than replacing the system board, or the server as a whole.

Suggested: PERC 5i (RAID 0/1/5) or PERC 5iR (RAID 1 or 0 only)

Hi Good day!! well i think your board didn't detect your HDD for some reason:
1. unexpected shutdown
2. cable not properly connect in HDD to motherboard
3. HDD have been damage because of improper shutdown.

here are the step to detect your HDD
1.pull out your cable from the HDD and then re-insert it make sure it its inserted properly.
2.go to CMOS and then in the "MAIN menu" check the primary master, primary slave, etc. in the primary master your HDD should be detect there. if not enter your primary master for auto detecting.
if nothing happens and still not detected you must replace the cable of your HDD.

Dell PowerEdge 1600SC Server problem
I had the same thing happen in a 600SC about a month ago.
Replaced the memory, and it fixed the problem.

It did the same hang. Would run fine for any where from a hour to 3 hours, and then quit (hang). And I got the same message. Talk to them and it was a short in the memory module, so some times it would read the entire stick, other times it would "not see it", and that would lock the OS.

Flashing orange light
Power edge system are having two power input check the cables from the power outlet may be one is in contact otherwise one of your power supply gone means not working. Check the wires first then the power supply units
