Data recovery i deleted three files from my digital voice recorder about one week ago. please let me know what needs to be done to get these files restored. I have an Olympus VN hand held digital voice recorder. The recordings were deleted. I want to restore the recording. I hav not done anything yet. Is there any recovery software available.

    I have the same problem except mine is an Olympus VN-240PC ... and basically I think we're both screwed. The problem is not a lack of file recovery software. I already have RecoverMyFiles ... (great program by the way). The problem is that Olympus, in their infinite wisdom, seem to have locked the device's internal memory. Windows does not recognise the recorder as an "external device" when it is simply plugged in using a USB cord. You plug it in - it says PC on the recorder's screen - but go to "My Computer" and it's not listed alongside your C internal drive, disk drive, whatever. RecoverMy Files cant work on a device the computer cannot technically "see". I'd love to be proven wrong on this point. If anyone knows of a way to override Olympus stupid gimping of their own product, then tell me about it please. DAN.

YES, it is definitely possible to recover such kind of files deleted from your Olympus recorder.

First things first: DO NOT take any more videos or audio with the recorder that you want to recover files from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of voice memo file recovery.

Then connect your recorder to a PC with a recovery program installed. Photo Recovery Software (also recover Voice memos, audio and video files) is right what you need to use if you are running Windows. If you are Mac OS X users, turn to Data Recovery for Mac.

Yes, those voice recordings can be recovered provided not overwritten(if you keep taken more records, then possible). The best way is to try some audio recovery software. Here are some for your option. Both programs can also recover videos and photos.

I deleted date from Olympus VN-4100PC
When the Digital Wave Player application copies the files to yourcomputer, the default location is under My Documents>Digital WavePlayer>Message. There, you will see FolderA, FolderB, etc. +Recording & Schedule folders.

If the files are not there, use a file recovery application, such as PhotoRec to recover the deleted files.
