I bought a verbatim 320 model. The blue light flashes on and off but the usb never loads. I can hear the drive wanted to boot but it just flashes on and off. I'ts able to work in my computer if I keep trying it and use less ports.

It seems that the disk-drive is "dying".
If it works, at least a bit, copy all the files from it onto your C: drive, or burn the files to DVD-writable disk(s).
Then, exercise the warranty to get it repaired/replaced.

My pc wount boot if i turn on my verbatim 1 tb before i turn on my pc, it stops booting on the blue intel 4 screen

The way to stop this is to turn off usb boot support in the bios. Essentially its trying to boot from that hard drive, enter the bios and look for usb boot and disable it.

I've plugged a portable harddrive in and it's not being recognized. It's a Verbatim USB 320. I am on a Toshiba with Windows 7

The USB memory key want to use a drive letter already in use. To fix it ,click on start, right click on My Computer then click on Manage. You may need to enter your password or click on Continue in the User Account window. Click on Disk Management and look for an entry that does not have a drive letter. Right click on the drive and then click on Change Drive Letter and Paths. Click on the Change button and select a new drive letter from the dropdown menu.Click OK in both windows to save.

Verbatim 160GB Hard Drive won't boot.

Try it on another PC or on a powered USB hub: maybe it's not getting enough power to run.

If it still doesn't work, and you don't hear the drive's spin-up noise, the electronics may be damaged, the internal disk disconnected or the internal power connection faulty.

If you hear the spin-up whirring and then a series of repeated whirrs and clacks, ending after about 30 seconds - one minute, the disk might be damaged. It still might be recoverable if extracted from the case and connected directly to an appropriate hard disk port (a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter might be necessary), but when things go this far, the chances aren't too good.

I just got a Verbatim 320 GB/Go, USB 2.0. I have a MacBook running OSX (10.4.11). When I plug it in, there's a flashing blue light, no sounds or anything. According to the website, this only happens in...

Hi,

First let me let out a LMAO to there website. Although the Windows and Mac operating systems are still somewhat different in how they work, the computer you're running OSX on IS a standard "IBM-Clone" or PC and therefore and potential hardware issues are identical regardless of wether it is running Mac or Windows.

The Blue light blinking generally means one of only two things, one the hard drive is active and currently reading or writing files, or two, it has a hardware problem. The fact the light is on usually means you have a good power supply but there are numerous other problems that could cause this.

If you just bought the drive and haven't got any data that is only on this drive, take it back to the store you bought it at and ask to have it replaced as a faulty drive. If you do have any crucial data on the drive already, respond back and I will be happy to offer advice on how to retrieve it.

My Verbatim 320GB portable drive will not work with my iBook G4

Called Verbatim support and they said it is a power issue. They will send you a USB Y cable to get power from both USB ports. Hope it works.
