What game? if it is an older game, you might need to lower your screen resolution to play it.

To adjust the resolution of your screen right click on the wallpaper or your screen choose

In windows 7
Right click in the desktop > Screen resolution > then adjust the resolution. Your resolution should be set to one that your hardware can provide.

It depends upon the notebook you use if it support the resoulution you want. You can change the resolution by display properties in control panel. Also 1280*800 is used only by widescreen desktop or laptops.

You need to find out the native resolution of your monitor, then adjust the PC video resolution to that required by your monitor. Brand and model?

I do not know who tell you to adjust the monitor to xx DPI. First of all, you do not adjust the resolution at the monitor, the resolution adjustment is done at the PC video setting, your monitor has native resolution of 1680 x 1050 with refresh rate set to 60Hz. DPI spec is usually for printer resolution capability.

Try downloading the most recent drivers for your new video card from the manufacturers website, that should get your resolution problem fixed.

Right click the desktop > Properties > Settings Tab, you can change the resolution in there.
