I need driver, as i've lost the CD and can't use the webcam on my new laptop windows 7 professional

Go to this link and enter your SNID, should be on the bottom. Select Windows XP and download the lan and wlan drivers. Of course you will have to do this on a computer that connects to the internet. Copy the drivers to a usb drive and install on the laptop.

Sounds like the usual problem of an unsupported webcam device driver due to Microsoft and the hardware manufacturers not developing drivers that are compatible with Windows 7. The MSI website has a download centre that can be found at this link but the search facility is pretty poor as it didn't display any results when searching for driver or webcam so perhaps the live update site found here would be more helpful providing they've released Windows 7 drivers for your webcam.

What operating system are you using? This camera is not supported for Windows Vista or Windows 7. This could be your problem. It is an older camera, you may need to just get a new one to work with Vista or 7!

Hello sir, hi, you definitely need your CD with driver which came with your Dell laptop, Use the CD to install the webcam software driver and application. If you cant find the CD, go to DELL website www.dell.com and download the driver for your webcam, and hopefully the laptop/webcam supports windows 7. If not you may need to wait for the driver.

Webcams built-in to computers (I'm assuming it's a laptop) just require a driver to work (no CD necessary). You'll need to visit the website of your laptop's manufacturer and download the driver for it. After that you'll be able to use it with whatever software you need (including Windows built in software).

1. It's a driver compatibility problem with Windows 7.

2. Install the driver for web camera which is compatible on Windows 7 using the bundled CD/DVD.

3. Update the web cam driver using Windows Update!

4. Restart the system.
