Turn both low and high adjustment screws carefully clockwise all the way in - do not overtighten.. Then back out each two full turns. Set the idle speed control for highest setting. Prime and start and let it run and warm up for about 15 seconds - then lower the rpms a tad and then adjust the low end screw for highest rpm. Then reset the idle to lower reasonable level. You may have to go back and forth with those two adjustments till it runs fine at low idle speed..
Then accelerate to highest speed and set the high adjustment for highest rpm. Then go from idle to high speed. If not smooth a small adjustment on the high speed screw is in order. Keep doing that until you get a nice smooth transition form low speed to high speed.

Does your artic cat have a carb cable if so it will have an adjustment or a clamp on the cable where it attaches to the linkage..check make sure it is set to low idle..and your idle screw is adjusted to low idke..meaning cable adjusted to lowest possible position when the throttle is released..then make your final adjustment using you idle screw..good luck
The idle screw is the largest of the three and will generally have spring on it and it will be above the low and high adjusting screws. Turn the idle screw clockwise to increase idle speed. But before you do that, adjust the low and high settings to one full turn out.
Regarding the adjustment procedure you generally start your low and high mixture screws at one turn from seat, or slowly turn them in all the way until they bottom out and then back them out one full turn. You will adjust the high speed mixture screw at full throttle and get the median point between too rich (loads up) and too lean (dies out). You will want to do the same thing with the idle mixture screw, just adjust at idle rpm. You will also adjust the low idle mixture screw to give you a smooth transition from idle to throttle up. Once this is obtained, you adjust the third or idle speed screw low enough so the chain does not turn at idle rpm but high enough so the saw doesn't cut off. Hope this gets you going.
turn the high speed and low speed mixture screws right in[gently]then out 2.5 turns.start it up,screw the idle screw up till it will idle,then adjust low speed mixture screw in or out so you get the highest idle.keep lowering the idle so as you adjust the screw,it wont get it any higher in revs.so by now it should idle.next,open the throttle wide,and adjust the high speed screw until you get maximum revs..then,turn screw 1/4 turn out.that makes it slightly richer,cooling the plug with droplets of petrol.you dont want it lean.if it wont rev fully,check the fuel filter.they get dirty quite often
Most likely this is caused by one or both of the following. The low speed jet needs adjusting or the idle speed is adjusted too low. Most saws the user can adjust the idle speed as the adjustment screw is not protected. Adjust the idle speed so that the chain just stops turning. It may be necessary to adjust the speed up till it will stay running for you and then start turning it down till the chain stops. If the low speed jet needs adjusting it may be a better idea to run it by a Stihl service center and have them tune it up for you.
Hello Randy. I can talk you through making adjustments to your Jiffy ice auger engine.
1. Read through the whole list before you start adjusting. 2. Close both jets GENTLY 3. Open the Low speed 1/4 turn 4. Open high speed jet 1 1/4 turn5. Start engine. 6. Adjust low speed until idling smoothly. 7. Open her up wide open. 8. Adjust High speed until engine transitions smoothly from idle to high speed without bogging. 9. Shut engine off. Let it cool. 10. Once engine is cold. Fire it up and let it idle for 30 secs. Open it up wide open again. Adjust if necassary.
NOTE 1: The trick with the Jiffy's is to tune them during cold (ice fishing) weather. NOTE 2: Low speed screw,the one on the left. NOTE 3: High speed on the right. Good luck ice fishing! Regards, Joe
If you haven't already adjusted the carb there are usually 3 adjustments. H - adusts performance at full throttle (how it cuts in the wood). L - adjusts performance at idle and accelleration to full throttle.It sounds as though those are fine. The third adjustment T - is the throttle or idle speed (often away from the other 2). If my saw that is the one adjustment I'd make. You supplied no make or model, it is difficult to provide what you requested without them. HTH

there is no adjustment that can be made. You will have to have your iac motor checked it is attached to the side of the throttle body (idle air control).it is operated by the PCM. The PCM adjusts engine idle speed through the idle air control motor to compensate for load on the engine, or changes in coolant temperature or barometric pressure.
