if you can browse the internet but YM program doesn't launch at all it could be the program has problem of its own, you can try uninstalling your current YM program by going to control panel then add/remove programs then choose your yahoo messenger and click remove, then install a new one from the internet:
you can download a stand alone installer of yahoo messenger by using this link:

Try downloading other versions of YM. Maybe YM ver10 is not compatible with the Operating System you're using.... Windows 7 is my OS before, downloaded Yahoo Messenger 10 and it doesn't work

Try the direct approach where you grab / download the entire exe file rather than the wee installer...

Hi. Yes, your printer will run on LinuxUbuntu 9.10. There is a driver available for download in the Lexmark website. Just click on this link. http://bit.ly/cXIEFa . Click on Linux/Unix tab on the center of the page. Download the Linux driver for Debian Package Manager based distros with filename: lexmark-08z-series-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh.tar.gz. open terminal
sign in as root by typing: su
enter password when asked
write
apt-get install libssl0.9.6

now download ymessenger
http://download.yahoo.com/dl/unix/ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb

save it to a easy to find location

go back to terminal
write: dpkg -i /write the full path where you downloaded the file here/ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb


Run /usr/bin/ymessenger (or just ymessenger) and follow the few simple instructions for setting up Yahoo! Messenger. An icon will be placed on your desktop.

I had the same problem, I think the new version is buggy. What i did was download the old version of yahoo, version 8+ then install it and now it works.

If you need further help pls. let me know.

1. install alien Symaptic Package Managerunder System, Administration.
2. Go to HTTP://www.canon.com, Support and get the 4 required Linux Drivers. cuijfilter common and cuijfilter MP140 series, scangearmp common and scangearmp 140 series drivers. Download them to your desktop. Get the .rpm version only for this to work.
3. These files are in the .rpm format and they need to be converted to .deb.
4. use the terminal window. cd ~/Desktop. That will put you in the desktop.
5. Convert the files to .deb by using sudo alien --scripts scangearmp-common-1.10-1.i386.rpm and sudo alien --scripts cuijfilter-common-2.80-0.i386.rpm. These are only examples and you need to be exact or it will not work.
6. Double Click the .deb files and they will be installed. Install the common files first then the 140 series next.
7. Reboot the computer and the scanner will show up in the GIMP Image Editor, File, Qcquire, Scangearmp.
8. You then need to go to System, Administration, Printing and configure the MP 145. It is called the MP 140 series and Make and model is a Canon PIXMA MP150 CUPS ..........

download YM from filehippo.com or majorgeeks.com and try to install it. its not that hard. msg me if you got any problems while installing YM...
