Jet 3 Ultra, batteries 1 yr old, charge voltage only 26.3 volts output from onboard charger when batts drained after extended use. After charging overnight, batts are 12 volts each, but chair goes 1.5 miles and dies. Batts or charger? What should the charge voltage be?

Mark Batteries your charger is putting our enuf 13.15 volts for each battery so after charging all night you should be reading about 13 volts on each. If your batts are only 12 volts after all night charge then batteries are weak Hope this helps

Testimonial: "Thanks very much! I wa not sure if the charger was outputting enough voltage to charge the batts, You have confirmed that the batts need replacement"

My 2003 ford expediton battery light came on so I changed the belt the belt tensioner the alterntor and the battery and when start up battery

14 volts charge is correct. Standing voltage on a good fully charge battery is 13.2 volts or so. I check one on charge with a 6 amp charger and it was 14.2 volts. It dropped to 13.8 with charger off.

I have a Jazzy 1113 ATS .The batteries are bad .I charged them individily on a different charger .I plugged the onboard charger in but do not get a voltage reading on the plug to the batteries .

huntin you might not get a reading at the plug to the batteries because if its not connected to a load the charger might operate until it senses a load. a better way to check would be to plug the charger into the outlet and take your meter set it to 200 volts dc and plug it into the two outter holes of the chager port located under the front of the joystick. you should get 27-30 volts dc with the charger plugged in. when you unplug the charger you will be reading the battery voltage. After charging overnite you should be reading 26-30 volts dc if you aren't getting that voltage replace the batteries Hope this helps

Chair dont take a charge

Get new batteries If your batteries are 2-3 years old its time for new ones. You can check the output of the charger by using a digital voltmeter Set the meter to 200 vdc and plug it into the two outter holes of the charger port with the charger plugged in you should read 27-30 volts. and with the charger unpluged you can aslo read the voltage of your batteries. fully charged they should read 25 -27 volts. If when charging you don't read 27-30 volts then the charger isn't working and you can get an offboard charger cheaper than the onboard just charge thru the charger port on the joystick. Hope this helps

You'll have to get to the battery terminals while they're charging, and then you can measure the charger voltage, if any (around 12 v).
It sounds like your charger is bad, and you can order one from this site:

Good luck, and hope this helps you.

Flashing red light batt. fully charged

Flashing red light usually means low batteries. Check the batteries after charging all night with a volt meter through the charger port you should read 26-24 volts dc. If you get a lower reading and you are sure the charger is working correctly then you will need to replace both batteries Hope this helps

My chair is not charging. We are getting 34 volts

Hi. A voltage of 34 volts is way to high. Most chargers are limited to about 28.5 volts. You will quickly dry out your batteries at 34 volts. I would say your charger is very faulty.
You have probably already destroyed your batteries at that charge rate.
Are the batteries new or a couple of years old.
I serviced a machine last year, that, according to the owner, had been through 6 sets of batteries in 4 years. His charger had the same problem as yours.
Good luck. Neil.

Its showing you the voltage out put for the charger if all power lights are lit and the chager is pluged in if batteries show only 2vlts then they are no good and the will not charge up thats why amp meter is on 0

My chair wont charge in either of the charging ports

It's either a dead charger or dead battery(ies). You will need a voltage tester meter to check. First check the charger by setting your meter to a setting over 24 volts (your chair is a 24 volt system). Test the voltage at the charging port by placing the two probes into the two outside ports (there's three ports in a triangle...test the two opposite ports.) You should get a reading in excess of 24 volts but less than 26. Now plug the charger into one of the ports and check the voltage again. If the voltage is now higher than the first reading, your charger is working and you will need to replace the batteries, if it is the same, your charger is bad.
