Help! We have a KV27TW75, Sony, cabinet tv, which simply stopped working. It's like the power was shut off. We doubt that it's worth fixing, but are wondering whether we could fit another tv INTO that particular cabinet.... any advice?

The tv in the cabinet could be fixed. First check the mains fuse. It sounds to me that the internal power supply board fuse has blown, to access this you will need to access the back, once you have access to the insides of the set where the power cord enters the set you will find a small somtimes coloured fuse set in a small fuse holder, pop it out, take to your local electrical shop and you should be able to find the same rating fuse, and the good news is that they are only cheap. Make sure you get the exact rating fuse to replace the old one.

With regards to the cabinet if the above dos'nt fix the set, then yes it would be possible to put another set into the cabinet, but you would probably find you would have to do alot of modifications yourself to fit another set, you would have to find the screen dimentions, and need to be able to secure the set properly. hope this helps a bit and post back if you manage to get the set going again. thanks.

Yeah it's work fixing, if ever you know a repair shop you can trust just talk to one of their technician to service it at home.

2 of my 7 sony tv's have started blinking on and off, but after unplugging for 2 months one stopped blinking for awhile but started again. how do i fix these tv's? models kv-27ts32 and kv-24fv12

You cannot fix these by yourself. You'll simply need to call in a Sony-authorized Techie and pay the gentleman his asking fee to diagnose and repair your TVs. It sounds like the flyback transformers are about to say "bye, bye" to you, and this is normal. Sorry to hear about these unfortunate circumstances but nothing in life is guaranteed to last for ever. They do quit sooner or later....Especially the nicer ones! And it may not be worth the cost to repair them.

Yamaha RX-v800 av receiver will not power up. Was playing and just shut off & will not powere up again. Was in a stereo/tv cabinet with closed glass doors. Cabinet compartment has vent holes in back....

Mine did the same thing two days ago. No reason to suspect overheat as mine is in the open. Could be the power supply? Mine comes on after sitting for a while.

SAME HERE I HAVE A 52 INCH SONY HDTV AND SHUTS OFF CONSTANTLY

Is the tv and receiver in the same cabinet...or an area where the heat from one can affect the other. If so...you may have overheating. Also, be sure that airflow around the TV is good and that any air paths are open (enclosed cabinets can be bad news)

Sony bravia tv

Solution is simple....

First, unplug power cable from the back of your TV. You will notice the flashing light is still flashing. Don't worry, go to the Second step.

Second, keep pressing on the POWER button, located on the panel at the top of your TV, to shut off your TV. This will stop the flashing light from appearing.

Third, Plug the power cable back onto your TV

Fourth, press the POWER botton ONCE, using the same button used in the Second step to turn your TV back on.

Fifth, you will see the POWER light comes on, as normal.

Sixth, using your remote control, press the green button to turn on. Your TV should work as normal.
