Sony - Projector TV won't turn

I'm having the same issue. Looks like the picture is in 3D mode or something. My nephew can come over push 3 buttons on the TV and it goes back to normal. But when it's off overnight we wake up and it's doing it again. Now my nephew moved to Florida and I have no idea what buttons nor in what order to fix it smh

It is possible that you messed up the convergance of the projector lamps on this TV. Try the convergance setup to see if this helps.

Yes....this blinking code is a diagnostic fault code which is a good thing, you count the number of blinks and it tells you where the problem is.....you also can see it by pressing the buttons, DISPLAY,CHANNEL,5,volume - not + ,then power....In your case it blinks 5 times,its in the video out,you need a desoldering iron,solder,rosin core 60%tin and 40%lead...remove and replace these,Q761,Q705,Q732 on the C board also Q218,Q219,Q220 on the A board.hope this helps.......

try to turn the tv on using the sony remote and this sequence of buttons push display 5 volume up then power if the tv comes on change ic8002 on the power supply if it doesnt try replacing anyway this is a common issue with sony tv's

5 blinks means AKB detected. Try turning down all 3 screen adjustments slightly.

Scroft, I'm new at this forum, but your problem sounds like mine, some guys here sugget me to replace the convergence IC's, I just ordered them and I should get them by tomorrow or Monday at the latest, you might wanna go that route. But first, please try to adjust the convergence on from the TV's menu, I hope is just a little adjustment, otherwise you will have to replace those 2 IC's,

I pressed "Demo" on the front of my TV and it worked, I have an old Sony KP-53XBR35 VIDEOSCOPE XBR - no original remote and the Universal remote has PIP button but would not shut it off.
Finally it's off!!!!
