But the VISTA DVD "Repair" cannot fix my Boot Manager Missing. It takes you online to find a solution but then I was told to see my system administratior or PC Supplier. No help there seeing it is a VISTA problem.

I think the cause was plugging in a USB external HDD before booting. This HDD worked OK if plugged in after boot-up.

Problem, how do I solve this problem?

You can often fix it right back up using the original Vista installation disk. Which comes with a pretty extensive System Recovery Tool that's got lots of options. Set your computer to boot from DVD (using the Boot setting in the BIOS), insert the disc and restart. Vista will prompt you for language and keyboard layout options, then ask if you want to reinstall Vista or repair your installation. You want Repair. From there Vista's System Recovery Tool will take over. this is the only way to get back from the dreaded boot manager missing error.

Haveing problems with hp notebook 1100 boot mgr missing error while initializing NIC

Hi There,
I'm having trouble understanding what you mean by this - are you attempting to boot from LAN? Are you able to boot into windows at all?
What it sounds like is that your computer is either missing a boot manager, or you've assigned (in the bios) LAN boot as the priority boot device.
If that's the case, you can change the boot device priority back to internal hard disk in your BIOS (pressing F2 or F10 at startup splash screen)
If you're missing a boot manager for a windows installation, you can insert your windows installation disk and select "repair an existing installation" to repair your boot manager

Says boot manager is missing

Try inserting the windows recovery disc and reboot the machine. At the language screen, bottom left, click repair your computer. At the recovery options screen, click on startup repair. This should recover the boot manager file. Reboot machine when completed.

Boot mgr is missing

Boot Manager is missing If the boot partition no longer can be found, then Vista will display the following error: BOOTMGR is missing. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
The Windows Boot Configuration Data file is missing required information
More Info MS KB 919529 More Info MS KB 927391 Check points for fixing missing boot-manager: Check that your boot device is configured properly Boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and perform a "Startup Repair". Boot Manager is compressed If by accident having compressed the entire boot partition, then Vista will display the following error: BOOTMGR is compressed. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart OR maybe try this first. Check points for fixing compressed boot-manager: Boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and perform a "Startup Repair". If the above doesn't solve the problem then boot into WinRE again, but when selecting the Vista-installation, then press "Load Drivers" (Instead of "Next") and use the mini Windows Explorer to right-click the boot-drive and deselect "Compress this Drive" and choose Apply to sub-folders and files. If that also fails then boot into WinRE again, and go to the "Command Prompt" and execute these commands: compact /U C:\bootmgr compact /U C:\ntldr If you for some strange reason have lost your Vista DVD, then you can also use a Windows 2000 / XP install CD and enter the recovery console instead and execute the following commands: attrib -c c:\bootmgr attrib -c c:\ntldr

Try start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, OR System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.

Toshiba Satellite a135-s4427 Boot Manager Missing

its not the hard drive my frined, its the boot loader it has been deleted or it has been compressed the only way to fix this is to use the recovery cd you have, to boot from cd-rom you need to go into bios which is usualy F2 or F5 key, then under boot manager or somthing is the primary and secondary boot, change the primary to CD-ROM, then save it and restart then it should boot from cd-rom then you have do a start-up recovery.
