Carrier Weathermaker 8000 Furnace Flame Surges on start up

The fuel is controlled by the gas valve, the amount of gas is controlled by the regulator, I would verify that the inlet gas pressure is within the limits of the gas valve/regulator. The surging is likely the fault of the regulator and could be as simple as a spec of something in the orifice that allows gas pressure on the top of the gas regulator diaphragm. With the surge there must be an accompanied change in gas pressure at the gas valve outlet to the burners, use a "U" bend manometer to verify as they are the most simple and accurate and react instantly with no "averaging" software to wonder about.

Furnace gas valve is not opening

YOUR FURNACE IS IN LOCKOUT MODE DUE TO A SAFETY FEATURE OF UNIT. USUALLY THE HIGH LIMIT HAS BEEN TRIPPED, OR YOU PRESSURE SWITCH FROM DRAFT INDUCER MOTOR FAULTY OR PLUGGED. IT WILL CONTINUE LOCKOUT MODE UNTIL THIS IS FIXED.

Carrier weathermaker 8000 cycle problems

When the furnace fires and then 1 second later the flame quits, that's your flame sensor/flame rod. Its the lil metal rod at the burner section, that the flame passes across/comes in contact with. Has 1 wire connected to it. Clean it gently with a pc of sand paper, but don't make it shine, just a light cleanind will do. Here is a link that has answered the trouble codes.

Heater is on firing up- everything seems ok but there is nogas-goes thru the cycle with igniter glow orange but does not ignite- there doesnt seem to have any gas present to ignite weathermaker 8000

the igniter has to have proper omhos to open gas valve.
recommend replacing igniter. be careful not to touch new igniter with bare hands. oils in the skin of your hands will cause the igniter to get too hot and burn out quick

Flames will not start even though igniter glows

i am not very familiar with this particular model but something must tell the gas valve to open.there must be a thermocouple or optical scanner that creates a signal to open the gas valve. if there is a signal to the gas valve then the gaas valve will need to be replaced

Blower runs, Ignitor glows, no 24V at gas valve, no click....

Check the two wires coming directly off the transformer. They will be connected to the board the line voltage will be black and white and the 24voltage will be something like blue and red undo from board and check to see if you have 24 volts there. If not your transformer is bad 10 dollar part. Take it to Heating and Air parts house to replace. Let me know ken

Gas not coming on Carrier Weather Maker 8000

either the gas valve is not opening or your not getting gas to the furnace.  also the gas valve won't open unless the draft motor comes on.  if the ignitor is trying to light, but there's no gas, it might be a bad gas valve. i would call your closest NATE certified contractor
