Please try the following to resolved that issue:

1. Make sure the printer is turned on and the desired tractor is selected (the corresponding tractor arrow should be lit).
2. Open the upper cover.
3. Press the Top of Form button to enter top-of-form mode. The printer beeps once, and the Top of Form light turns on.
4. Use the Micro Feed buttons to feed the paper to the desired top-of-form position. The “A” on the ribbon protector shows you where the bottom edge of your first line of text will print. This position is based on the first printable line of text. If your software inserts a top margin of five lines, your text will actually print five lines below the top-of-form position.
5. Press the Top of Form button again to exit and save your new top-of-form position. Then close the top cover.

How to Epson R2880 slowing down due to motor overheating?

If your Epson R2880 printer is slowing down due to motor overheating, there are several things you can try:
  1. Check the printer's cooling system: Make sure that the printer's fan is working properly and that the vents are not clogged with dust or debris. If the fan is not working properly, it may need to be replaced.
  2. Reduce the print resolution: High resolution printing can put more strain on the motor and cause it to overheat. Try reducing the print resolution and see if that helps.
  3. Check the printer driver settings: Make sure that the printer driver settings are optimized for your specific print job. For example, if you are printing a large image, you may need to adjust the printer driver settings to allow for more time between passes.
  4. Check the print head alignment: If the print head is not aligned properly, it can cause the motor to work harder and overheat. Use the printer's alignment tools to ensure that the print head is properly aligned.
  5. Use high-quality paper: Low-quality paper can cause the printer to work harder and overheat. Use high-quality paper that is recommended for your printer to reduce strain on the motor.
If none of these solutions work, it may be necessary to contact a professional printer repair service for further assistance.

Hi, replaced ink cartridge on Lexmark X2470. Now it goes as far as the "print alignment page" and freezes. Will not print the alignment page or any other page for that matter. Thanks.

Hello. The ink cartridge may not be seated properly in the carrier. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Clean the nozzles using a damp paper towel. Unplug the printer from the power source. Plug it back in after 10-15 seconds. When the printer asks for the cartridges, reinsert the cartridges. Also, make sure you're using the compatible ink cartridges for the printer. Let it print the alignment page all the way without cancelling it to align the cartridges properly. Hope this helps.

Tops and bottoms of letters are cut off. I have changed the ink cartridge

Replace the old ink cartridge.
Verify that the unit is on. The On button is lit when the unit is on. If the device is not on, press the button to turn on the unit. Open the print cartridge door. The print carriage moves to the far right side of the unit. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. When replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left. When replacing the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right. Pull the print cartridge toward you and out of its slot. If the print cartridge is being removed because it is low or out of ink, recycle the print cartridge. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging. Remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab. Removing the Tape from the catridge.
  1. Will have Copper-colored contacts.
  2. Plastic tape with pink pull tab ( must be removed before installing ).
  3. Ink nozzles under tape
  4. The HP All-in-One prompts for an alignment of the cartridges every time a print cartridge is installed or replaced. Follow these steps to align the print cartridges from the control panel.
  5. Top & Bottom not printing properly.
  6. Load unused, plain, white letter, A4, or legal paper into the input tray
  7. If coloured paper is loaded in the Input tray when the print catridges are aligned, the alignment will fail. Load unused, plain white paper into the input tray when the Printer catridges are aligned, the alignment will fail. Load and unused plain white paper into the Input Tray and then try the alignment again.
    1. Press 6 to select Tools .
    2. Press 2 to select Align Print Cartridge The unit prints a print cartridge alignment sheet.
    3. Load the alignment sheet print-side down and top first in the center of the document feeder tray, and then press OK. Now the printer will print properly.

Colr prints showing plenty of lines

Here's a solution from Canon USA:

Issue: Banded or streaked prints
Solution: Print Head Alignment MP530

Perform Print Head Alignment Instructions to perform a Print Head Alignment directly from the machine. If diagrams or ruled lines are misaligned, print head alignment is required. The print head alignment can be performed automatically or manually. If the automatic print head alignment does not work, adjust the print head manually. Automatic Print Head Alignment
  1. Press <ON/OFF> to turn on the machine.

  2. Load a few sheets of letter-sized plain paper in the auto sheet feeder.

  3. Press the Open button to open the Paper Output Tray. Then open up and set the extension by pressing down the hollow on the front side.

  4. Execute automatic print head alignment.
    1. Press <COPY> button.
    2. Press <Menu> repeatedly to select [MAINTENACE].
    3. Press the left or right cursor to select [AUTO HEAD ALIGN], then press the <OK>. (A pattern is printed and the print head is automatically aligned. It takes about five minutes to finish printing the pattern.)

  2. Load two sheets of Letter-sized plain paper in the auto sheet feeder or cassette.

  3. Ensure that the proper paper source is selected.

  4. Execute manual print head alignment.
    1. Press <Menu> repeatedly to select [MAINTENACE].
    2. Press the left or right cursor to select [ALIGN PRINT HEAD], then press the <OK>. (The nozzle check pattern is printed.)

  5. Check the printed patterns and use the left or right arrow to input the number of the pattern in column A that has the least noticeable streaks.

Hpphotosmartc4380 the printing is badly out of line .How do yoy align the cartridges?

Hello,

You may want to run the alignment program again. Below are the steps as found on page 84 of the manual found here.

To align the print cartridges from the HP Photosmart Software
1.
In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click
Printer Toolbox.
NOTE: You can also open the Printer Toolbox from the Print Properties dialog
box. In the Print Properties dialog box, click the Services tab, and then click
Service this device.
The Printer Toolbox appears.
2. Click the Device Services tab.
3. Click Align the Print Cartridges.
The HP All-in-One prints a print cartridge alignment sheet.
4. When prompted, ensure plain white letter or A4 paper is loaded in the input tray, then
press the button next to OK.
NOTE: If you have colored paper loaded in the input tray when you align the print
cartridges, the alignment will fail. Load unused plain white paper into the input
tray, and then try the alignment again.
The HP All-in-One prints a test page, aligns the print head, and calibrates the printer.
5. Load the page print side down on the right front corner of the glass, and then press
the button next to OK to scan the page.
When the On button stops flashing, the alignment is complete and the page can be
removed. Recycle or discard the page.
