The printer will not print as long as the paper output tray is closed.

  1. Open the Paper Output Tray (2).
Put your finger in the rounded indent beside the Paper Output Tray and open it gently.

  2. Open the Output Tray Extension (3).
Open up and set the Output Tray Extension completely by pressing down the hollow on its front side.

  3. Adjust the position of the Paper Thickness Lever (4).
Set it to the right when printing on envelopes or T-shirt transfers, and left when printing on any other type of paper.

Alarm says : Open paper out tray. What does this mean?

I think they mean the paper tray, where the paper either is coming out or where t you supply it with paper. your printer has several doors to open to get paper out because it is jammed. look on you printer and you will see at least two, with a scanner 3 or four doors. You have a paper jam

Canon printer mx328 is when i scan it display ''the paper output tray'' what mean and how to clean it. Please help.

Hi

If the Paper Output Tray is closed, open it. The machine resumes scanning. If opening the Paper Output Tray does not resolve the problem, or if the tray was open to begin with, the paper may be jammed. Remove the jammed paper, reload paper properly in the printer, then press the Black or Color button.

NO BLACK PRINTING on my Canon mx310 printer. in case of misprint please align head

Hi,

Follow the steps below to align the printer

  1. Press and release the On/Off button located in the upper left-hand corner of the operations panel to turn the power on. Open the sheet feed cover on the rear paper tray. Pull out the paper support until it stops at its fully extended position.
  2. 2 Open the paper output tray. Flip the paper output tray extension out. Load a sheet of letter-sized plain paper in the rear tray. Slide the paper guide to the right until it is snug against the left side of the paper.
  3. 3 Press and release the Home button on the control panel. The Home screen will be displayed on the LCD panel. Press the Up or Down Arrow button to scroll through the menu. Select the Settings option. Press and release the OK button. Select the Maintenance option. Press and release the OK button. Select the Auto head align option. Press and release the OK button.
  4. 4 Wait for the confirmation screen to be displayed on the LCD panel. Select the Yes option. Press and release the OK button. Wait for the printer to automatically align the print head and print the alignment sheet. This process should take approximately 4 minutes.

Hi Where do I load the paper in my Canon MX310?

The MX310 is a straight through printer. So you put the paper in the rear tray after opening it. Pull out the paper support and adjust the lever for the paper thickness to match your paper specifications. The lever goes to the left unless printing envelopes and T-shirt transfers. Also pull out the paper output tray and set the output tray extension.

Align the 4 corners of the paper stack (if loading more than one sheet) and bend to uncurl the paper (if needed) before inserting in the rear tray. For photo paper and other pages with a print side and a back, place the pages with the print side facing up. Align the paper against the right side of the rear tray and then pinch the paper guide and slide it to the left side of the paper stack. Make sure to adjust the paper size to match in the computer's printer properties (paper size) or in the copy settings on the all-in-one before either printing or copying.

Specific directions and pictures are in the Quick Start Guide that is available as a PDF here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mx_series/pixma_mx310#BrochuresAndManuals .

I hope this helps.

My cartridges on my canon pixma mp190 do not move to the center when i open it. it is also blinking an error of E2 and the alarm button is blinking

Is it brand new? The print head rail may have a protective plastic piece covering it. Pull that out and it should work better.

The code "E2" on your Pixma MP190 indicates that the paper is loaded incorrectly.
After correcting the problem that caused the error, press the or button.
  1. Remove paper from the rear tray.

  2. Open the paper output tray and extension. (See and in Figure 1 below.)

  3. Set the paper thickness lever according to the media being used. (See in Figure 1 below.)

Note: For paper thickness lever settings, use the following setings for the media type being used: Right side: Envelopes / T-Shirt transfers. Left side: All other media types.

    * Figure 1

  4. Divide the stack of paper into two or three piles.

  5. Fan out the sheets of paper so that they do not stick together.

  6. Load paper in the rear tray with the paper's print side facing up. (See in Figure 2 below.)

  7. Align paper to the right edge of the rear tray. (See in Figure 2 below.)

  8. Pinch and slide the paper guide to the paper's left side. (See in Figure 2 below.)

Im trying to print something off my computer but my printer says i have to open the ''paper out tray'' before it can print. the problem is i don't know where that is.

Depends on the type of your printer. Printed material need to be ejected. If your 'paper out' is not open you need to open it. Check where the paper goes in, first. Then, somewhere infront of that must me the outlet. Good luck.

Canon pixma 3100 keeps saying load paper and won't print

If you have paper in the loading tray and it keeps giving you out of paper message then the sensor by the loading hopper is not working and would need to be replaced.

9 times out of ten though you might want to clean the printer and make sure the hopper is not just jammed this happens when you put too much paper in there at one given time.

thanks

Hi :) I'm trying to print on my Canon PIxma- mp480 to no avail

Hello
This can be due to a feeder wrong setting on the printer or on your PC: your printer tries to take paper from the back feeder, whereas your paper is on the front feeder....
try to check these settings in your PC and on your printer, and retry to print, hoping this helps

Can the Canon MX310 print on transparencies?

Manual does not mention Transparencies.
Manual states that It will print T-shirt transfers:

T-Shirt Transfers TR-301
This paper is used to create iron-on transfers. The image is printed inverted.
Paper Support Load Limit: 1 sheet
Paper Output Tray Load Limit:
We recommend that you remove the previously printed sheet from the Paper Output Tray before continuously printing to avoid blurs and discoloration.
Paper Thickness Lever: Right
Media Type:
Printer Driver Setting: T-Shirt Transfers

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Jsut plugged in machine

The Paper Thickness Lever should be set to the left for normal/plain paper. This switch can be seen inside the unit in the area of the paper output tray.
