The monitor power supply board probably die, that what happening. That the board where the power A/C cord plug into it.Most common on a died or a dead power supply board are dead capacitors components parts.Tries check the power supply board very carefully see if u see any capacitors parts cylinder heads are bulging up.U know basic electronic and have all the tools and can do basic soldering works.Just replaced all these dying capacitors components parts that have it cylinder heads bulging up in the power supply board.Than the monitor should have power again and work.If the monitor look fine and have no dying or dead capacitors components parts in the power supply board that mean the power supply board it have dead and fried many of it components this probaly beyond repair for a basic knowledge of a electric tech hobbiest trying to do repair work for the power supply board.Try website like Ebay.com buy a whole new refurbish power supply board for the replacement it best idea.

A lot of time people have the impression that the monitor is not working when in fact the computer is not booting its lighting up but nothing else so its stays on a black screen.

One way to know is by opening your speakers or plugging head phones, if you hear windows open or any windows sound the problem is the screen.

You can also unplug the screen from the pc and turn the screen on most of the time the screen while show a disconnected warning on the screen if that comes up the computer is defective.

HP LP3065 monitor turns off and won't turn back on; is this a Windows problem

It doesnt sound like a windows problem. A simple test for this is to unplug the vga or hdmi cable from the monitor then turn it on if it has power it should say no signal. Also try either another power cable to the monitor or change the fuse. Hope this helps.

Power is on but screen is black

Hi, you gave too little details & you did not tell us if there is any display of your desktop on the screen...I know how annoying it is but please try another RAM stick. I don't think it's a monitor problem.
HOWEVER if all parts are OK & still the problem is not solved, you need to replace cable connected to your Hard Disk.
Please let me know so that we can help you further send your feedback. thanks.

We leave our computer turned on at night but we turn off the monitor. The last two weeks when we have turned on our monitor in the morning it will show the desktop but when we move the mouse the monitor...

Yes. Do not turn the monitor off by its power switch, let the computer do the work for you. Alot of times when people use the power switch to turn off the monitor, the computer sees that all of a sudden the monitor has been disconnected from the pc. when that happens the pc sees it as a device beimg unplugged and removes that certain device from the pc's list of things that should be connected, and when you turn it back on the pc sees it again and starts loading drivers for that new part(monitor)
