When inverters go bad this way, it's usually a diode that's broken down. They're easy to test with an ohmmeter- you will get an open reading one way (reverse biased), and will read a few hundred to a couple thousand ohms the other way (forward biased). Other than that, the other components will have to be troubleshot.
A transformer ot power transistors will have to be checked out. You can google articles that explain how to check them, if needed.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

COLEMAN INVERTER PMP1200 JUST BEEPS WHEN TURNED ON

It is most likely the low voltage alarm. Suggest connecting when the car is running with no load (110 volts not connected). If the alarm continues turn the unit off and on to reset.

Hope this helps?

Inverter Protection Features
• Short Circuit Protection. The inverter will automatically shut down until short is removed.
• Low Voltage Alarm. An alarm will sound when the voltage from the battery discharges to 10.5 +/- 0.5 volts DC. This is an indication that the battery needs to be recharged.
• Over Voltage Protection. The RED LED Indicator Light will illuminate and the inverter will automatically turn itself off when the input exceeds 16.5 +/- 1 volt DC.
• Under Voltage Protection. The RED LED Indicator Light will illuminate and the inverter will automatically turn itself off when the input is less than 10.0 +/- 0.5 volts DC.
• Overload Protection. The RED LED Indicator Light will illuminate and the inverter will automatically turn itself off when the continuous draw of the equipment being operated exceeds 1200 watts or the surge draw of the equipment exceeds 2400 watts.
• Thermal Protection. The RED LED Indicator Light will illuminate and the inverter will automatically turn itself off when the circuit temperature exceeds 150° F

What can you advice me to do? i have a UPS SURTD5000XLI, indicating a red Led light, but when i remove it from the AC power source, the Red Led also remove & when i flog it again to the AC Source it...

Is red light on for overload or for battery?
If on overload, try reducing the load on the UPS. If red light on overload persists buy a new UPS (overload fault hard to repair).

Red light on battery - replace the batteries.

Red light on boost or buck, may mean that the nominal voltage of ups and the limits need to be changed/corrected.

I had a monitor and xbox 360 power supply plugged into the inverter. It has been working for at least 2-3 months now just fine. Then all of a sudden, it turned off. I unplugged it and thought maybe it...

  • First thing I should ask is have you tried to plug something else into the inverter to see if it is the inverter or a surge messed up your monitor and X-Box?
  • When you say turned off do you get a solid red light when the inverter is on and you are trying to get your X-Box and monitor to work? A solid red light means voltage overload.
  • A blinking red light means you are having a current overload.
  • If the internal alarm on the inverter goes off and shuts down with a red light this means you are having a voltage shortage.
  • If the red light starts to blink this is a temperature overload.
  • Keep in mind that this inverter will start automatically back up as soon as what ever issue it is detecting is resolved. There is no fuse to check inside.

  • If your inverter shuts down from thermal overload then wait 15 full minutes before trying to turn it on again.
  • If you don't have any blown fuses and no burned wires make sure that if you are using over 150 watts and hour you go right to the battery rather than a cigarette light adapter as the stress can burn them wires connecting to the cigarette lighter up.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Look in your owner manual for the 3 fuse box locations. It is similar to our Lincoln LS.

From LS owner manual.

There is a 175 amp mega fuse in the wire harness near the luggage compartment fuse box. In circuit with Red/Blue wire.

Front power distribution box

The front power distribution box is

located in the engine compartment.

The power distribution box contains

high-current fuses that protect your

Generac generator on auto runs weekly. light green previuosly green. now red. what causes this??

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. Your red LED is telling you that it was 1. overloaded. 2. has low voltage 3. overheated or 4. short in the powered circuit.

OVERLOAD LED (red): Lights up if the generator experiences
a load greater than the rated output, low voltage, overheats or
the powered circuit experiences a short. The output is stopped
even though the engine keeps running.

I do not know which of the 4 conditions caused your red light. If you have the read light with no load I would suspect low voltage from the generator / inverter. If it overheated you will also get the Red LED with no load.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

3 red lights box under 3 years old

RED LIGHT OF DEATH!
The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 motherboard or power supply. You can test power supply with a voltmeter from power supply wires to the connections on the motherboard. If no power or low power, the supply is bad. If there is plenty of power, then motherboard could have bad capacitor or chipset on it causing the problems. You can test those with an ohmmeter to see which component is not the same.

Red Flashing Icon

The icons from the left: 1. Power indocator 2. Hard Disk indicator --> it is a tube icon, not battery, but means hard drive. 3. Power Source indicator 4. Bluetooth indicator
The third from left means the power source indicator. Normally it is light green. If there is battery problem (can not charge or battery overload) it flashes amber/orange. If flashes red, it indicates that the battery power is low. You need to change the battery or connect the AC adapter.
