Maxtor One Touch II - installation Software

Hello,

No need to purchase the software, it's available free from the Seagate website. Seagate recently bought out/merged with Maxtor and has taken over support. Got to:

http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/

Ckick on Maxtor External Drives then click on One Touch 4 Family.

Click on download Software link below the name of the version you have One Touch 4/Mini/Plus and the software will download. You can just install it or you can save a copy to burn to disk and then intall from the saved copy.

Sounds like you're on the right track, but you don't need to buy another drive to get the software. Go to the link below and find the download for your drive in the list.

The software downloads are a free form of support from Maxtor.

Try this link. It has a software for Vista for your Maxtor drive. Download the ZIP version and install it. Hope this works for you .

I have a disk that worked for me and I am running windows xp. Guess you could try them first and if that doesnt work I could perhaps make a backup of the disk/package/mail/ worth anything?

Tell Rey Barcelo that the Installation software is on the hard disk
inside of his Maxtor OT Mini III 80 GB. There is no physical CD.
It's all on the hard drive inside of the device. I had my computer
expert look at it and now the device is working normally.
A lot of Kudos to you for steering me in that direction.
