Have a panasonic nv-gs150 camcorder. got it off a friend without any cords or software. have picked up a dv cord but when i plug it into the computer, it doesn't recognise the camcorder. How do i get my footage onto the computer?

Panasonic usually includes the Mac software program "Imagemixer 3" that imports the videos/photos you have on your camera. If the software isn't included with your camera, try Googling around for the program and it should come right up!

You need to purchase a IEEE/1394 firewire. They run around $40-$55 for a 5 foot wire. The 1394 end goes into the computer and the other end goes to your AV/out port on the cam.
Simply rewind the tape and record over the old stuff, if you want it completely blank, cover the lense with lense cap and press record button it will just record a black image.
if you are using rca cables let the cam playing something you recorded and try find the channel on vcr(on its tuner).it would be helpfull if you post a picture of your cord
