The yellow light of death is an error that has been
plaguing the play station 3 for a while now. It is basically a failure at the
hardware level and is known to have a huge impact.
Some of the theories doing the rounds on
what causes this specific error include power supply issues, lack of cooling or
heat dissipation leading to
over heating or
drive errors. Lack of heat dissipation results in a hardware failure on
the motherboard.
Improper power supply is another primary
reason for the occurrence of YLOD. The general theory is that the console beeps
whilst throwing the yellow light and then the console gives out a red light
with the primary reason being over heat.
The probable reasons for this could be due to the
various temperatures the system would experience whilst playing games and
improper vents to provide the requisite cooling. Under such circumstances, it
is recommended to leave the system unused until the heat is dissipated and the
system cools down completely before turning it on.
Once you face the YLOD error, you have a few options
to choose from:
• Buy a new PS3
• Get your PS3 repaired by Sony
• Get your Ps3 YLOD Repairs by
someone else
There are a few temporary things you can do, but the
over all will not last very long unless you open up your system...
