My ps3 doesnt turn on and has the blinking red light. how can i get it fixed and is it just worth getting a new one since this one is like 7 yrs old. if i do get a new one can i transfer over my saved data

7 times blink is a Y sustain PCB defect. Facing TV from the back... its the board on left attached to the upper and lower buffers

Sorry to give you the bad news but their is nothing you can do for it... Need to call sony and have them fix it.. if you ps3 is older then a year .. you will pay about $100 .. but i would tell them its not that old and you want them to fix it for free.. it worked for me... oo and all your data .. its lost .. lost forever... sorry

Any indication of power? red light? blinking light? Sounds like the power supply failed if no indicators on. 3 yrs is an average lifespan for these new sets.... unless you are a tech, it's time for a repair shop. Get an estimate first, sometimes its not worth getting an old set fixed...
