Go to settings, and profiles...

then change it to general mode, or loud mode.

SOURCE: E5 Nokia new gone offline

Check the SIM card with another phone to see if there are any problems . If not check the SIM connectors and insert in the shown direction- it is possible to insert it wrongly.
If not I suggest that since your Phone is NEW it must be shown for warranty free service to Nokia service.

Offline mode is usually caused because the SIM card is not accepted by service provider or SIM card has bad metal contact.

Go to your profiles menu and select the profile you want to use i.e "General"

I couldn't find the above menu items however i found an alternative: press the on/off button on your E71 and select General. The phone will then ask if you want to change from offline mode and allow network access.

You can get it back online by changing the profile to anything else other than Offline. To do this, briefly press the power button. This bring up a menu. Select another profile, say General.

There are also other reasons why your phone stays in Offline mode even when you do that. The most common of these would be a problem with your sim card.

My dear,
Just select settings, profile select the offline mode and it will be activated.
Or, you can switch off the phone, remove the sim card and switch on, it will ask "use phone in offline mode" click yes and phone eill be on in offline mode. When you insert sim card it will still ask the same question select any of your mind and enjoy your phone

Tap the power button once (do not hold it too long, because it will turn your phone off). Just choose any profile, and your phone will go to online mode. You can switch it anytime to offline mode, in case you want to use your phone and be unavailable at the same time, by doing the same thing - tapping the power button, and selecting offline mode/profile.

Nokia 6120 shows offline how do i get it online
I just did it with a little help from the first response. However, exact steps are: Go to SETTINGS then go to PROFILES. My cel options are NORMAL, SILENT etc. Go to NORMAL then....gees, since I have it on line again, I can't remember if you go to ACTIVATE or CUSTOMIZE. One of those two options will tell you, "YOU ARE OFFLINE, WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO ONLINE" Of course you will choose ONLINE and VOILA!
