If you are using FIREFOX and your computer is redirecting you to Yahoo and then a bunch of non-relevant sites, you may not have a virus at all. I had this issue for months and could not figure it out. Turns out, it was some add-ons by the same company, SPIGOT, (don't ask how they got there, I don't know!) But once removed, everything was fine.

  1. When your Firefox browser is open go to TOOLS
  2. Click on Add-ons
  3. Go to Extensions
  4. Start looking for any by the company SPIGOT (will likely be greyed out because it's not compatible with updated Firefox
  5. Uninstall the SPIGOT extensions. (Amazon, Ebay and a couple others most likely. Personal experience, there were 4 add extensions to delete.)
  6. Clear history and Close Firefox.
  7. Reopen and should be good as new!
This also removes that annoying 'Hot Deals' tab that shows up in your browser. Don't bother with all that DNS changing stuff until you've tried this. I tried DNS first and of course it didn't work. The problem was in the Firefox extensions.

Google search was my homepage, but now yahoo has taken over. How do I get back to google and get rid of yahoo

I strongly recommend you read http://google-redirect-virus.info/prevent-google-redirect-virus.htm GOOGLE REDIRECT VIRUS Although the page says 'things to prevent redirect virus' it is a good free method of protecting you computer from anything. How you change your default search depends on the browser but its pretty easy to do.

I have a web browser redirect that will not let me go to Yahoo or Google SE, instead it redirects me to another SE..... Pls help!

Sounds like you are experiencing "Browser Hijacking". This is caused by a malware that can be tricky to get rid of at times.

Download and install the free program at the following link. It is really good at removing many type of malware that normal virus scanners miss.

Why when I type yahoo.com into my browser address I get m.yahoo.com

This is yahoo's NEW design (I don't like it). When you type in "yahoo.com", you will be automatically redirected to "m.yahoo.com".

If you want to see the original page, scroll to the bottom where it says "About Yahoo!" and click "Return to Classic Yahoo.com".

Redirected from yahoo email

You may have a virus or worm that has infiltrated your network and it is routing you to the google page away from your Yahoo!Mail. I would recommend doing a virus scan on all the computers attached to your network including locking down your firewall on any routers, hubs, switches and on all windows platforms utilized by your computers. Once that is done, proceed with a full network check which you may need to consult a local computer repair company if you are unable to do the network scan yourself.

Cannot log into our website www.bakeryinabag.com

I just went to www.bakeryinabag.com and it redirected to a Yahoo store which I suspect is the expected result.

What's happening is that the redirect is being blocked. This can be caused by security software. A new company hardware firewall.

Or perhaps Yahoo is being blocked. You need to see what changed before this problem occurred.

Here is the URL of the site: http://yhst-70930728770655.stores.yahoo.net/

If this URL works then the problem is that the redirect is failing. If the URL does not work then the problem is that the site is being blocked.

Almost certainly this problem is caused by some kind of security settings.
