My iPod's screen is black and its not turning on or working at all, it's a fairly new iPod and is fully charged, whats wrong? Its never had this problem before. It happened today (10-26-10) when i tried turning it on to listen to music, but the screen stayed black, when I pressed the play/pause button I could hear the sound it usually makes when I press it. I could also hear the usual sound it makes when you scroll up & down .It sounded fine for about 10 seconds then it stopped making the scrolling sound and the screen was still black. I tried plugging it into my desktop and laptop with my Apple iPod charging cord but my iPod still did nothing and still wont turn on. Please tell me what's wrong. Thank you.

SOURCE: ipod 30gb black buzzing noise

Sounds dead to me. My best advise is to sell it on eBay, be honest about the problems because buyers can bite you in to **** if you aren't, take that money and buy a refurbished one direct from apple.com with the same warrenty that a new one has. You can find out more about the warrenty on apple.com/store and scroll all the way to the bottom left of the page. You can get anything from a shuffle to an itouch for alot less. Good luck

SOURCE: 80G Ipod Classic skips songs

Try converting the songs into a different format because the format that the song is in might not completely be played on the ipod. Right click on the song and click on convert to mp3. Then try transferring the mp3 format song onto the ipod and it should play right then.

Ipod touch will not charge, brand new

Try charging from usb or docking station, if it works than your charger is broken, if doesn't i would return product to shop as its probably broken socket or something wrong with software. Anyway usually it's just a charger and than as it's new phone i would go back to shop and ask to swap for working one :) Sometimes if battery is dead it may take few seconds or even minutes till your screen turns on so after plugin in wait a while.

Hope it help

Ipod model a1199 4gb

Check that the IPOD is fully charged. Plug it in to the charger and you should see the screen telling you how much charge it has. Check the slider on the top of the iPod. If it's a Classic iPod there is a switch to prevent accidental turning off or on. Slide the switch to the left and try again.

My i pod screen went black you can still see a little but i cant get it to brighten

Try the following

Turn the ipod off and then on again.

If that does not work reset the ipod while it is connected to the power. You do this by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same tme for at least 10 seconds, until either the apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, charge the ipod until it is fully charged.

Hope this helps.

Nano dead. Will not turn on. It was fully charged.

It's broken. Google "iPod repairs" in your country and they might be able to replace it. Otherwise you can get an exchange unit from Apple. Take it to your nearest Authorised Apple Service Centre and they will get it exchanged in a couple of days. Unfortunately this might cost almost as much as a new one.

My ipod touch will not turrn on or reboot whats wrong?

Checklist to see if your iPod needs a reboot:

. Your iPod is charged.

*If not, you might have to plug in your iPod, and make sure the computer can't go to sleep while it's charging. The iPod won't charge if the iPod is locked, so no orange.

Charging your iPod problem solution, that also works.

* Your iPod might need to completely drain in battery source before you can charge it. If that's the case, leave the iPod unplugged for 24 hours before trying to charge it. That will make sure the power is drained and your iPod is ready to be charged.

2. Your iPod is unlocked. Slide the button back and fourth a couple of times, just to make sure it's working.

3. And your iPod still has a black screen, frozen logo, or white screen.

Rebooting your iPod.

1. Run a cold boot (shut your computer down, then turn it back on) on your computer. * If your iPod crashed because of the software freezing, or the computer crashed.

2. Open your Apple Software.

3. Plug in your iPod. Make sure that you plug in your iPod into your computer, and that the plugs are secure. Your computer should detect your iPod, black screen or not.

4. Set down the iPod. Take your iPod and put it on a flat surface.

5. Press firmly. Take your fingers, and firmly press the middle button, and the menu button. It will read menu on the top button of the click wheel, and the center circle of your click wheel is what your looking for.

* Make sure your fingers are planted on the top of the center button, close to the menu button, and you are pressing it together.

6. Count to 8.

Now you should see an Apple logo pop up on your iPod screen.

Sometimes you need to try it a few times, to get it to work.

It should be synchronizing and happily you should be on your way.

*You also can reboot your iPod without it being plugged into the computer, I always do mine while it's plugged in.

you have to erease all the dta on mines and put the music and everything back on,

Apple screen

Connect the ipod to your computer and let it sit for about fifteen minutes. Then it should show up in your computer and under itunes. Usually, if your ipod dies completely, when you try to charge it using a wall or car charger, it will do that, just flashing the apple logo and going back off. Leaving it plugged up to the computer will allow the battery to charge normally, just enough so that it can come on and sync with itunes. While it is plugged into the computer and charging, it should say something like, battery very low, wait few minutes, charging. It should work after letting it sit plugged up to the computer.

IPOD Video 30gm

Hold down on the center button while hold down on the menu button. The apple logo will appear. Your Ipod is now rebooted.

Is the new battery fully charged? Usually it takes 6 hours on a new battery.
