I was also facing the same problem(orange light..stand by monitor during Booting ).. and after a long time I thought that the card is defective. But ITS NOT !!
Solve :
1.Open your CPU cabinet and check all your Hardware fittings (its really working !)
2.Eradicate ant old dial-up modem.
3.Change Ur BIOS settings: to AGP (MUST).
Now restart Ur computer.
YOUR ORANGE LIGHT PROBLEM IS SOLVED !!!
TESTED OK.

Hi Steven141414, when adding an AGP video card in to the opened AGP slot, you must make a change in the bios for the motherboard to use the new AGP card. Do you still have you're motherboard manual? Please go to page 33 in you're manual.
If you no longer have you're manual, you can download it by clicking on this link: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=272&DetailName=Manual&DetailDesc=P4VMM2%20%20(V3.2A)&CategoryID=1&MenuID=82&LanID=0
I understand you have no display currently. Please remove the AGP video card for now. When you boot you're system you should have video display. Enter the bios. Normally to do this you will need to press the delete key once every two seconds until the bios menu upends. (Just as you turn on the PC).
Once on page 33 you must change Primary Graphics Adapter to AGP. (Not to PCI)! Save & exit the bios after making the change. Press & hold the power button on the PC until the PC shuts down. Unplug the power cord from the PC. Using canned air, blow out any dust that may be in the APP slot. (Good time to blow out any dust within the PC, including cleaning the CPU fan). Than install the AGP card. Connect an additional power to you're AGP card if it requires it. Double check all data & power connectors within the PC (Good connections), before closing the case. Re-connect the power cord to the PC & power it up. Once windows has finished loading, install the AGP cards software. Lastly, check windows for any updates & install.

Good Luck!
Mike

Steven, I would say it's the video card. New or used matters not. Since the onboard works fine but the AGP hangs & is blurred, than there is a problem with the AGP card. I have come across a lot of FX5500's from other users who all seem to have issue's with the card. May I suggest another AGP 4X video card? Any one of these 4x AGP cards on this link.

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...

Steven, since my suggestion lead you to being able to get you're AGP card to display, that's considered a fix. It's not you're fault the AGP card is not performing as it should & not mine fault either. Rating an expert (me in this case) is all about status. No money, we don't get paid. We help people like you because we can.

    Again, Good Luck!

    Mike

Monitor totally blackout

Hello madelyntrist,
Monitor totally blackout may from inverter problem.
To make sure inverter or not, switch on than knock the panel smoothly. If you see flashing light on area knocked, that indicate inverter is ok.
If that still any questions, please let me know.

It is possible that the 9400GL is not compatible with your motherboard. Might be possible that the max video memory is 512MB.
Maybe a BIOS update can solve this.

Hi:
Unfortunately, it isn't a Windows problem, but a monitor power or backlight failure. Your monitor's high voltage inverter board, or the backlight has failed. Often it is too expensive to repair, and cheaper to replace the monitor if it is out of warranty

Blackout screen on computer monitor

Please try to check your VGA card placement to its slot, then check its cable connections, if still the same problem, try to connect your monitor to another PC & if it operates, then your VGA card is defective. regards

Dell Monitor Not Working

well if the status of the LEd on the monitor is amber(orange) & the system is running on a on board video card & not a Add-on video card... it is a possibility the the integrated video card ot the mother board might have gone bad... either contact a local tech or the tech support for the computer...

also unplug the monitor cable from the system tower & then if you see that there are the bars moving which say monitor self test on... means tht the problem is with the video card or the mother board...
since the system is running on a integrated video card...

No signal

Weegee, Unfortunately you are trying to mix two different video types: VGA is an analog video interface found on most computers (except for latest with flat panel monitors, which are usually DVI). Your TV DVI interface is digital (although there is a DVI-A, which is an anlog DVI interface, it is unlikely that your TV has this). So, what you are trying to do probably won't work. I assume your computer does not have DVI output (otherwise you wouldn't have bought the adapter), but some monitors have VGA inputs; does yours? What kind of DVI adapter did you get? Is a DVI-A? Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvi for info on DVI interfaces.
