We are having problems with the bar code printing wider than needed to achieve bar code clarity. Using a Tec B-572 driver, and a 5 1/2" printer head. Humidity seems to really affect the printing and we have to adjust it wider to get the clarity we need. The machine these are on is not in an environmentally controlled room. Basically exposed to normal shop conditions.

You have to set the ribbon type to be "non-transmissive" for black transfer film.
To set the ribbon type, turn the printer off. Then press and hold the "feed" and "pause" buttons while turning on the power. The printer will now be in diagnostic mode - you can page through the menus until it says "ribbon type"
Pick the correct type and press the "pause" key to save the value. Then turn off the printer and turn it on again normally. The ribbon error goes away.
