System not found in my experience generally leads to a damaged or loose hard drive, try to open the cover at the bottom side of the machine, and reseat the hard drive, if it still says system not found, get a 2.5 inch drive case, put your laptop drive in the case and connect it to another machine, if you can access the drive great! save all your files and once complete return the drive to your machine and try to reinstall the OS from a dvd then reinstall your files.. and if still having the same problem replace hard drive thanks.

Stop error on sony vaio vgn-nw235f

There are multiple possible reasons for your problem:
1. virus
2. hard-drive malfunctions
3. OS malfunctions
4. memory failure

Try to install an antivirus and do a deep scan. You should pay attention to a boot sector virus.

If this doesn't help, do a back-up of your data, format your hard disk and re-install a fresh OS.

If this doesn't help either, try changing the RAM memory.

If that doesn't help either, it means your hard disk's boot sector is damaged. There are solutions for this too, but I think there is a big chance you won't get to this point.

Sata enable/disable is not appearing under advanced setting in the BIOS, that makes blue screen shows up during installation of windows xp

1. Turn Off the computer
2. Try taking out the hard drive and put it back in
3. Go to the BIOS again... see if the BIOS detected the hard drive otherwise
4. Replace the hard drive

I have a sony vaio vgn-fj78gp. i have to replace hdd 400gb sata, when i install the xp operating system igot an error

The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP. The FIX. Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

Sony Vaio VGN-NR498E recovery disk

Hello

Well, the recovery disks won't allow you to go to your present system. The recovery disks are designed to put everything back the way it was when you bought the computer, minus all your applications and data. If it's your data that you need then a reputable repair service like mine can slave your hard drive to another system and recover all your data (not applications), provided the hard drive has not electronically or mechanically malfunctioned. Again, a reputable repair person can tell you the status of the hard drive.

Thanks
