When I try to start dishwasher on samsung...the start light just blinks and dishwasher doesn't start. Any ideas?

it looks like pump in your dishwasher try to unjammed by hand .make sure power is off when you work on it

I found that PDF while working on fixing my Miele dishwasher and found it more helpful then most advice on the web.

What does it say in fine print right under control lock? "Press & Hold"? Page 16 of the user manual shows it as "air dry" with two lights, twelve and three o'clock positions. It says hold it for four seconds and the light turns off.

Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel.
Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. If the light is still blinking try and reset the power to the dishwasher and try again. If still the light is blinking then check for the connections on the keypad, it may be due to moisture or shorted connections on keypad. Hope this helps... Hmmm...don't know why this worked, but it did. When the lights were flashing when I tried to start my Frigidaire dishwasher model#FDB1500LF, nothing would happen...just blinking lights, so I went to the house electrical panel, found the switch for the dishwasher, turned off & on again, and now the dishwasher works.
Go figure.

It says in the manual to check the heating element.

Check to see how it's loaded. If something is obstructing either of the spray arms it will not start. I had this same problem and checked to see if there was something impeding the arms - I found there was. Reloaded the unit and it's running like a champ now!
