I went to put a game in the xbox to play,I waited for it to load & nothing happened.The screen said open tray.I waited & waited but nothing.I pressed the green button on the controller but the tray opened & shut.It still read open tray!!!! What does that mean???

ok , if it is giving u the open tay error , every time u try and load it , it could be a number of reasons behind it , i had the same problom , most games will play but i had 1 game that no matter how many new copys of the game i got , when i put it in my xbox the game spun 3 times and then said , open tray , like trhere was no game in the xbox, so i went 2 you tube and typed in open tray error xbox 360 and there r loads of examples on how 2 fix it , if u keep opening and closing the tray each time after it says open tray after about 6 to 7 times , it should play , but i would go 2 you tube , becase u need 2 open your disc drive 2 fix the problom.

prolly the laser you can buy one on ebay for 15-20$ or buy a new dvd drive for 50$ if you replace the laser you will need to solder for the dvd drive all you will have to do is open the case and pull out the broken one and put in the new one

it could be that u got **** like food in your x box360 open it up and clean it out put it back to gether and try it if this dose not work tell me at [email protected] ty

the lens of the disc drive needs a check up...

Its definately an internal problem, just have the people at microsoft repair your console. 

If it says "reading" you just have to wait. H.A.W.X. is a big game.
If it says "open tray" you have to close the tray :)

Unless, Check the CD for scratches and marks, or else try the CD on another Xbox 360 console.

open your tray aand if it doesnt open hit it but not to hard

ok m8 my mate had this problem what we found out was becouse he was playing a copyed disc on his xbox the xbox server cut him of from playing sertin games he could not play any ea games full stop untill he went and got a new xbox

i have a game and i put it in an it didnt work and the game is called rock band and it has the guter dums and a miker fone

Try opening the disk tray with the 360 off. Push a paper clip into 1 of these holes in your 360. It will pop the tray out. Grab the tray pull it out all the way. Put a game in, leave it open! Then turn your 360 on see if it boots the game.
"Your Disk tray might be going bad. It might be fixable but I will have to try it out on a bad drive which iI dont have at this time."
