Sounds like electronics not working.Try The final solution is a factory reset of your router. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset

If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can ssets-up form scratch.

go to http://support.dlink.com/chooseCountry.asp

for proper set up of the router...most likely it has conflicting IP Address's. If they wont help you can contact your ISP for support or get a differ router.

SOURCE: DI-524 status led not blinking

Here are the instructions

  1. Make sure that you have a copy of the latest firmware and it has an *.exe file with it. Because the router's configuration page won't be available, you'll be needing the exe to some sort of force the firmware upgrade procedure.
  2. Unplug everything attached to your router except the power cable and LAN cable connected to your pc.
  3. Configure your TCP/IP with this info: IP:192.168.123.253, Default mask:255.255.255.0, Default Gateway:192.168.123.254 and DNS Server:192.168.123.254 (Use only 1 DNS server). Save this new configuration and reboot your pc.
  4. Unplug the power cable to your router as the pc reboots. When everything is up and running, plug the power cable. The status led will be flashing like crazy. It's normal.
  5. Use the exe file to upgrade your firmware. Make sure that the utility file (exe file) is able to recognize your router or else you won't be able to do a firmware upgrade. Now this may take a while, keep pressing the Refresh button to recognize your router. Once recognized you would see there 192.168.0.1 crash. Once you have this, you can now press the upgrade button.
  6. Wait for a while until the unit finishes the upgrade and once done, I think you have recovered the life of your router from the pits of hell. Hahahaha.
  7. You can now unplug the power of the router and restart your pc, see if everything is doing fine.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: reset DLink router to factory default

All you need is your ISP log-in name and password.
Connect the router to your computer with an ethernet cable, log into its web server (generally 192.168.0.1) Get past the gatekeeper (admin and admin) and then navigate to the set-up page and re-enter your ISP info. That normally is all there is to it.

Status light isn't lit

If status light won't lit, there might be inside hardware problem in the router or maybe just the led is broken. Does your router still works just the status light wont lit or status light won't work plus the router? If the 2nd case is true then the router may be broken.

Dlink DIR-625 permanently stopped working. Connected directly to internet with dsl cable through sympatico and internet works fine but doesn't work at all when connected through Dlink DIR-625

you may need to reset the router and reconfigure the settings. please follow the steps below if you have a username and pw from sympatico.

1. Press the reset button for 30 seconds
2. Plug the modem to the internet port of the router. Check the internight light if lit; otherwise, use another known working cable.
3. Plug the PCs to the numbered port at the back of the router. Check the lights on the port number if lit; otherwise, use another known working cable.
4. Open a web browser and enter http://192.168.0.1 and press Enter. When the login window appears, set the user name to Admin and leave the password box empty. Click Log In to continue.
5. Click on manual configuration when prompted.
6. Select PPPoE on My Internet Connection and enter the username and password provided by Sympatico. Select Dynamic IP and Always ON options. Click Save Settings.
7. Click on Status tab and verify WAN status if connected. You should see WAN IP address when connected.
8. Try to open a browser and verify your connection.

Dlink problem

If those light are all lit up and WLAN is OFF there's a big possibility that the device is getting bad, first thing to do here is to reset it , to reset the unit Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds using a pen for about 30 seconds while the power is ON, then after that release the reset button and unplug the power of the router for 10 seconds and hopefully after that the lights should be back to normal but if not you may need to contact Dlink or get a new router instead...

How to reset dlink adsl router dsl-502t

Hi rishibrd,
Usually these routers have a reset function. Look at your users guide for the actual reset button. Sometimes the reset button is accessed with the use of a paper clip, which is pushed into the reset hole. This will reset the router back to factory defaults. You will lose all settings, so it would be a good idea to jot down on paper whatever settings you have applied for connectivity, so that you will be able to reapply those settings again afterwards.
