First you will need a double female ended VGA cable, plug into the blue triangular socket on the lap top and to the same socket on the back of the tv, as long as the tv has a VGA socket you will be ok.
Make sure that the signal source on the tv is set to pc, on the pc right click on the screen to enter the display properties, goto the settings tab, in the settings window at the bottem you will see a slider for the resolution, change the resolution to 800 by 600, on the right you will see the bit setting change this setting to 16bit or 24bit and click apply click ok to keep this setting, restart the laptop, as long as everything is connected correctly when the laptop boots you should see the windows screen on the tv. good luck and i hope this helps.

i donot find the blue triangular socket-i do have a yellow video out with a regular plug. what now?
Is the yellow plug on the laptop or tv?
You should have a vga socket on the laptop, if you havent got a vga on the tv just a vidoe in socket you will need to find a vga to composite cable, set the tv to AV then try, post back and i will try to get you up and running.
Right it is on the laptop,so you will need a composite cable, the cable has a white, red and yellow coloured end pieces you will only need to plug the yellow cable into your laptop and the other end to the yellow connector on a composite av adapter.
