What happens if you do a Spin Only cycle with that wash load?

Does it fail to go thru the 12 min Spin Only Cycle?

You more than likely have a Clutch malfunction possibly brought on by a leaky tub seal.

You can read this Clutch Fix . The first couple of steps will get you to release the washer top from the base so you can get the wash load out.

It's not the best SM but will get you started. I also have repair post in that sticky to help with the most common issues with the machine.

if it spins when you remove the wieght out of the tub i'd change the belt and if that's not the problem the tranny is bad but try the belt first,most likely that's what it will be,stop overloading the washer the part number for the belt is 25001054 and it's around 15 bucks

From the wash times is sounds like the washer is agitating the wash load (tumblers are rotating the wash basket load) is that correct?

If so see if the machine will complete a Spin Only cycle with no clothes in the wash basket. Set the Spin setting to Spin/Hang dry seting and start the cycle. It should take about 10 min complete. Does the Spin Only cycle complete with no clothes in the wash basket?

Is the machine in Spin Cycle when this is happening? What part of the washer selected cycle does the Cycle Status LED say the machine cycle is in.
If it’s in the Spin Cycle I think you have a clutch issue. Do you take any error codes to the LED console display such as dC or uC?
If you stop the machine in that cycle and do a Spin Only cycle will it complete?

Run any load - large or the least bit bulky (like sheets) on the "BULKY" cycle. It takes longer, but the machine completes the wash. This shouldn't be the way it works. I love the Neptune TL for its retro look and lack of Maytag's classic big cranky knob. Too bad it runs like ****.
