Olympus e500 internal flash not working

My Olympus e500, internal flash stopped working. When I press the flash-up button, it opens the flash. however, it doesn't show the options to choose flash modes by this button.
There is no way I can get flash working. Could it be flash fuse or something?

Please help.

Internal flash not working on olympus e500

The Xenon flash tube in modern strobes rarely 'burns out'. I would guess that a switch that is activated when the flash pops up is not working properly. More info can be found here: http://forums.steves-digicams.com/olympus-dslr/159660-e-500-built-flash-not-working.html

Why won't the flash on my e500 pop up when the correct button is pressed or when I try to take a picture that requires a flash?

When you take pictures in AUTO, Portrait, Macro or Night scene mode, the built-in flash will automatically pop up in low-light or backlit conditions. If you want to control the flash pop-up, set this function to OFF.
    1 Menu [AUTO POP UP]
2 Use control dial to select [ON] or [OFF].
    3 Press the Ok
    button.

If you are in any other mode the flash will not auto pop up.

Cant get my RM-2 remote to work my olympus e500

The remote may be on a different channel than the camera.

Note: In cases of frequency interference or when you want to match the control frequency with the camera, aim the remote at the Remote Control window on the camera, and press the CH button and the W or T button at the same time until the Self-Timer/Remote control signal blinks or the camera emits a beep sound.
