E73: General Hardware Error: Ethernet port... this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet
port
It is actually the solder under the GPU which is giving the error code.
Is it covered under warranty from Microsoft? If not we can fix this for you.We are listed on this site for repair service.

SOURCE: sysem error E73 on Xbox 360

Follow the steps below, Hope this helps

1. Turn off the xbox 360, disconnect the cables wait for 20 seconds reconnect the cables and turn it back on.

2. Remove the hard drive, turn on your xbox 360 without the hard drive.

3. Re attach the hard drive and turn on your xbox 360

4. If the steps wont resolve the issue, your console needs to be serviced. Contact Xbox Customer Support to check the warranty status of your xbox 360.. Good Luck!

Xbox 360 E73 error. What do I do?
Turn on unit until the red light flashes and the error code(E 73) shows up on the screen. Next insert toothpicks in the back of the console(while unit is running) into the cooling fans, this is to suppose to overheat the console and start two red lights flashing. Turn off console when this happens(unplug all cords from console) and turn the system back on.

e73 is an input/output error. Hopefully you are still under warranty. Contact Microsoft at Toll free: (800) 4MY-XBOX or (800) 469-9269. If you are outside of your warranty period, I believe they will still repair it for $99

Error E73: General Hardware Error: Ethernet port... this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet port.

This error is also caused by a cold solder joint under the Southbridge or the Ethernet chip.Can also be one of the solder joints that lead to the GPU.

check if you are getting any flashing red lights on your xbox 360 power up button, if you are not getting any flashing lights the probably you may try unplugging any Ethernet cable attached if you had tried connecting to Xbox Live and at that time you face this error, re-connect and check

If you still get this problem and you see a single flashing red light on your console, please send your console for repair to MS support if it is under warranty

HI. This is an Ethernet port issue.

E73: General Hardware Error: Ethernet port... this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet port. Try using a new Ethernet cord. If the error continues after the new cord is used, contact Microsoft for a repair ticket. the port will need to be replaced. (Internal connection failure)

usually with 1 red light errors, there will also be an error that shows on the screen like e73, e74, e75, etc. You will need to first get your secondary error code.

then enter either the e-code from the screen or the secondary error code into the repair guide
