Hi, my Bosch maxx 900 front loader washer was in the process of doing a load when a really loud bang happened..now it won't spin..makes all the right noises, but barrel won't move. Took off back panel and can see belt is intact..am completely lost here.. Thank you, Cheryl

a loud noise comes when you forget to remove shipping bolts after installation or if the shocks are worn out it makes noise thirdly the bearings might be worn out if the washer is more than 6years old

the motor is no good

an addition.. pulled one apart, pulled drum apart and guess what I found.. the so called "spider"(the thing that attaches spindle that goes into bearing, and other side connects to the steel drum) is made if alloy and TOTALLY corroded by detergent.. Bosch didn't know that detergent is a corrosive substance???? I guess German engineers are .. put your own word.. ;)

Form the front of washer, spin drum by hand, and if it fees rough, or is rumbling, then the main drum bearings are worn.
If no noise from drum, then could be worn shockers, or the washer is not properly levelled, or concrete balance weight, I'm afraid it is a process of elmination.

Could be a broken spring on top of the drum allowing it to hit back of casing...hope you fix...

but a small load in . if happen then it sounds as if the bearings have gone at the back of the drum.

most front loaders are balanced by a large: ready for this: cement block inside at the top of your machine and because spin is so fast it can sometimes hit inside your machine or it has brokin a peice off ,sorry but yours going to have to get the repair person out.adrian

Is it a maytag? My maytag front load washing machine had 2 long bolts with plastic braces on them, to keep the drum still during shipping. Mine would bang and shake all over. I got the book out before I finally figured it out. I had to take the back cover off and remove the bolts and plastic braces over them. They look like they' 8 inches long or so. It works great now.
