Hi
I am using a D-Link DIR-451 router with a Huawei 3G Modem. Wireless LAN and WAN access all good. I cannot seem to open port 3389 (RDP) so I can remote into my home network while at the office. I did try enabling port 3389 under Port Forwarding, but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. I am using firware Firmware Version: 1.02SEA , Thu, 19 Jul 2007
Many thanks for your help
Regards,
Tony

Are you using LAN? You can only access Administration if you reset the device through LAN (pressing reset button). You cannot access Admin config after reset through wireless... If your already using LAN, try turning your firewall off. And oh, your LAN should be plugged in to one of the LAN ports and not in the WAN port...

Hi,
Connect modem lan cable to Router Wan / Internet port.
From Router Lan port you can either connect your system or switch .
wireless : Scan for wireless network from your wireless system. If it shows, connect to your wifi network
Thanks
You do not need an installation CD.
Connect a LAN cable from the D-Link to your computer's LANport, open a browser and enter the D-Link's configuration URL. OR open thebrowser on your laptop and enter the D-Link's configuration URL.. http://192.168.0.1 The default login = admin The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now go to the wireless settings.
The LAN cable can now be removed for wireless access.
To connect to the Internet, connect a LAN cable from your DSL or cable modem to the Internet/WAN port on the D-Link/
On the Router check if you have UPnP enabled, if yes then Disabel it that should fix the NAT issue and then you need to open the port number 1723,3389. Once these ports are opened then you will be able to access it on the VPN and Remote Desktop Provided you have a WAN IP Address from your ISP. also check the Firmware of the router if its updated or not.
I assume you have a cable or a DSL modem connectec by a LAN cable to the wireless router.
Have you checked you with your ISP to see if the connection yo your modem is OK?
Have you check the LAN cable from the modem to the wireless router is good and it in plugged into the WAN/Internet port on the wireless router?
Have you installed the latest wireless card driver in the computer/laptop?

Try 192.168.0.0 which would be the default address to access your modem. This should allow you to go into the modem and adjust changes. I know on the bottom of my router there is an administrator default password that can e used to access the mainframe of the modem. Check out these features in there. I would start first by connecting via LAN again and then try to conntect to it via a WAN but again see if you can access the modem using the 192.168.0.0.
Hi,
I am assuming that you can connect to your router's web based interface (192.168.0.1).
On a PC LAN wired to the router, open a browser;
Type "192.168.0.1";
Log-in username/admin and password/(blank);
Go to Tools > Misc and the option to select the WAN speed (bottom);
Lock the speed down on the WAN port of your router to 10Mbps (Some versions do not have this feature).
Hope this works for you.
If not pls post back with your modem brand/model. You may also want to log the IP settings (IP Add, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS Servers) of the PC that is directly connected to the modem when you can access the Internet when not using the router.
Good luck and kind regards.
Done. Thanks. Waiting a response.
