If you want help from Roland you will have to register:http://www.rolandus.com/backstage/login.php That will get you access to full support and their email address. I think you are having problems with your GK-3 pickup. Make sure your string that you are having problems with is the optimal height etc. The adjustment for the GR-20 is in the manual at this link:http://www.roland.co.uk/assets/media/pdf/GR_20_Q_A.pdf Make sure your pickup is installed correctly and adjusted properly first. The manual is here:http://lib.roland.co.jp/support/en/manuals/res/1811530/GK-3_e11.pdf If you have everything adjusted and only one string is not working then I would guess you have a cable problem and the best thing is to contact Roland for advice. I didn't walk you through the adjustment because every installation for every guitar is different. Hope this helps.

A guitar beginner here... can anyone help me reach a better decision on what strings to go for?

Go for Elixir, they last 4 times longer than regular s*it
I use Elixir .013-.056
Also change your pick, to a softer.
72mm pick is perfect for me!

Then you have strings that holds a long long time! / Emil

I have just bought a 1980 Hawk. But i am having trouble tuning it. it is also the pick-ups are really sensitive. It picks up every touch on the guitar. Putting your finger on a string sounds like a drum...

Your guitar Needs to be setup properly, tuning is tough need to wrap strings around tuner peg properly to stay in tune, and the pickups may need to be adjust farther away from the strings?
there are Tons of videos on YouTube showing basic guitar setup,
hope this helps?

How to operate an acoustic fender electric guitar Fishman tuner

If it's the same as mine, the tuner has a little clothespin clip. You clip that on to your guitar's headstock and turn it around till you can see the screen while picking strings. The tuner picks up vibrations through the headstock and with it's microphone and it tells you what it hears. The little needle tells you the note and if the string you're plucking is below that note, above that note or right on. You have to figure out if you're in the right octave on your own.

Ibanez Pre amp problem

It sounds like the guitar pickup may be faulty. It may be a loose connection on the which could be soldered easily or it may be damaged in some other way.

As this is isolated with your G string, I suspect the individual pickup unit is at fault.

D10sce will not work when plugged into the amp. the cord is nine ( works with my electric.) battery is new. when you turn up the volume on the controll, you can hear it in the amp, just no pick up sound.t

SUBSTITUTE Change the guitar for a friends to see if the amp is really OK. Try your guitar in a friends amp to see if the guitar is OK If the guitar is at fault its either the battery, the connection cord, the little pre amp in the guitar body (you can't fix that) or you have put nylon strings on the guitar which needs stell strings for the pickup to work. Good luck

Sounds like your truss rod needs to be adjusted. This should only be done by a professional. Take your guitar to a shop or guitar store that offers a service like this.

If you really want to do this yourself, though, here's a helpful video that will take you step by step through this:
Hope that helps!

My tuner reads D when it should be on E. It is set for 440. Please help. Thx

Test on another guitar first... If it only happens on yours, then you guitar MAY have a resonance in the neck or bridge that cross couples to your D string that MAY be the strongest vibration which the tuner is looking for. Try damping your D string while tuning the E strings by placing a finger on the D string to quiet the D..

Have Line 6 Variax 700 6 String Modeling Guitar and the "A" String has a buzzing/humming coming thru the amp. This is in all model positions and alternative tuning positions as well. Have tried changing...

The frequency of the A string when in tune is 110Hz.

What you are hearing is actually 120Hz which is the second harmonic of the 60Hz power frequency. It would be hard for you to distinguish between 110 an 120.

Try this test: Bring something that produces a reasonable magnetic field such as a wall wart power adapter that is powered near your pickup... Then you will be able to see that you are picking up stray magnetic fields from your environment.

Humbucker pickups attempt to quash such pickup by winding the pickup so stray magnetic fields cancel in adjacent coils.

Some pickup CAN occur on your cord and also in an amp.

If you leave your cable unplugged from teh guitar you are LIKELY to pick up some of this hum... The second harmonic pickup is COMMON when devces like full wave rectifiers are driven by transformers in the area.
