When I turn on the TV the green start up light blinks green and the TV comes on with picture and sound for about 2 seconds, then turns itself off and the code light blinks 4 times, pauses then blinks 4 times again. After several times of turning it on and it turning itself off , it stayed on. Turned it off for a few hours and when I tried to turn it on again same thing happened. Thanks for any help

Check the lamp.

Question shows tv is Sony KDF-60WF655.
Green light blinks when tv gets prepare to fire up lamp, check internal circuits then show picture on front screen.
Red light blinking shows some kind of internal problem during circuit check and protection got activated upon some failure.
Count the red light blink as you will see 3 second long pause and post it here to diagnose what section of tv got problem.
Did you replaced its lamp in last 2-3 years?

The DM is fine if the led isnt blinking. Your set is going into protective shutdown. Try pressing the menu and the device/input buttons on the set both in together for 5 seconds to see if the set will blink a series of blinks pause then blink another series of blinks. Such as 2 blinks pause then 2 blinks, Then let me know what the blinks were and I will assist you with whats wrong

you may check your lamp first. other than that i would say a faulty mains board.

Have you replaced its Lamp?
Symptoms shows TV needs new lamp.
Please always buy original Sony lamp for replacement.

Probably, the selftest fails while turning on. If this is the case, press input&menu buttons at the same time for 5 seconds, then the green led will start to blink. Let me know how many times the led blinks.

Our tv is about 2 1/2 yrs old and did the same thing we had to replace the bulb and bulb driver board this fixed the problem
