I have a Krups 7000 grind and brew. It is just a few months old and this morning it ground the beans and the water would not run in.

SOURCE: unable to make coffee automatically using whole beans

The rivets in the back of the Jura Capresso units are actually oval security screws. The bit that removes these screws are made of a very hard metal and cost me over $50.00 two years ago. Also many people who attempt there own repairs tear off the little plastic tabs that keep everything together nice and tight. We repair Jura Capresso Krups Bosh etc. www.hotncold.com

You have not missed anything. Unplugging for longer than 16 minutes (has 15-minute memory) is the only troubleshooting you can perform. Call Cuisinart to find out if you are still in warranty. Serial number is engraved onto the very bottom of the coffee maker - hard to read. All electronics have a failure rate. Cuisinart's is acceptably low, but their coffee makers are the least reliable of all their products. The basic problem with electronic coffee makers is that coffee makers produce high heat, and high heat kills electronics and melts plastic. At least Cuisinart has a 3-year warranty - higher than the industry standard.

Let me put it another way. All coffee makers have a high failure rate. As many Cuisinart coffee makers that break down, the non-Grind-and-Brews still have a 91 rating from Consumer Reports. Consumer Reports doesn't give ANYTHING a 91 rating. A lot break, but you probably won't fare much better by switching to a different brand. The problem with a Cuisinart breaking down is that an expensive unit broke down - you wouldn't be upset if your $15 Mr. Coffee broke every year. The law of averages is on your side - a 2nd Cuisinart will probably last longer.

SOURCE: Saeco Incanto S-Class Sirius coffee machine not sensing beans.

I have had the same problem the only way I could get it to brew would to use the program quantity feature every time. I was going to take it in today and decided to restore the factory settings and now its working like it should. This seems to be a circuit board issue Ouch! I have another issue with the steam, if I take the knob off it works if I don't it doesn't glad I bought a 2K model GRRRRR!

SOURCE: Krups Grind & Brew KM7000

The grinder is activated by a microswitch inside the grinder housing. Under normal circumstances, the microswitch gets closed by swinging the filter lid 'away' from the filter (i.e. into the grind position).

Unfortunately, sometimes the microswitch works itself loose, and no longer closes when you swing the filter lid open, so the grinder doesn't come on, since it thinks the filter lid is still in the way.

This seems to be a common problem with this rig. I'll be happy to advise you to fix this, or fix it for you. Write me at [email protected]

My espresso machine no longer grinds the coffee beans. It did this morning it made two lattes, but tonight it isn't grinding.

Oh you must be upset that this has happen. I had something similar to this happen and what it needed was a good old fashion cleaning out. Be sure to clean all the parts and remove any old beans left in the machine. Run some vinegar through the machine to clean the fluid containing areas until you get a clean release into the cup. Run one more water through and I hope this fixes the problem for you.

The frother doesn't work on my 2nd hand Krups XP2070

The frother usually has a rubber tip. The rubber tip normally has an additional pipe right next to the frother. The pipe's black plastic tip has a very small hole in it. This can get clogged and the frother will not work. Take a pin/needle and unclog this very small hole. The pipe itself can be plugged with milk residue and will need cleaning.

If you take the strainer cup and hold it up to a light, you can see if all the holes are open. If not, this will slow down the brewing process and create a LOT of back pressure which can force the water to flow out through the sides above the strainer cup. Take a needle and open each hole of the strainer cup.

When grinding your own beans, try not to process the coffee too fine or it starts to fit into the holes of the strainer cup. This can also slow down the brewing process. If you grind a batch too fine, you can sometimes get a way with mixing it with a batch of coarse or under-ground beans.

Over flow

I think you have to be careful in how much water you put in. I had the same problem the first few times I used it. I started to only fill until the water just met the 10 cup mark, not over it. I have not had the problem since.
