I have a em250 series how do i get the webcam to work bought it at Walmart I have a skype account model number KAV60

1. did you forget it
2. or bought it used like that?
3. or just out of the blue BAM silly PW needed, :???????

Laptops are very hard to fix like this, no PW clear jumpers

the coin cell battery is dead, on that day #3 above and not BIOS lies to you. understand the gravity of that?
it must be replaced and if lucky no more PW.

KAV60 motherboard are also used in Acer One D250. Just go on Acer website and look for it.

Put in your OS disc and navigate to the recovery console.

Once at the Recovery console type the following commands.

fixmbr

fixboot


Those two commands will fix most windows booting issues.

go to skype.com and setup an account
if your webcam is built into your machine it is seemless integration working with skype and builtin webcams. simply follow the instructions once you setup your account in skype

Did skype say to try and update your drivers.contact skype and ask what webcams are compatiable they should give you a list.Hope this helps.

Did you download the drivers via model or serial number. Generally the webcams drivers that come with Gateway are in three. Be sure you unistall the one that doesn't work before installing the other, restarting your computer each time. Also check the dates of the drives compared to the time you purchase the machine, some driver may be old or updated. Lastly, which i am sure you've done, make sure you have chosen the correct Operating System if you are not downloading the file from the web cammed computer.
