Ipod 30 gig 5th generaiton question

i replace dmy battery it goes to fully charged but it wont turn on when i remove it form the direc tto wall power support...can u help me plz..im frustrated..

    ijust put a ipod 30 gig on my itunes and restored and syncd

    and it apears to be playing but no volume

    i also cant play music in itunes on my ipod and the titles are verry light

    in the itunes

My 30 gig Ipod powers up and charges and I can move to music and vidoeos and photos, but it is not RECOGNIZED on my computer or any computer.

The 5th Generation iPod (iPod video) were made and sold in 2005. Batteries inside iPods tend to last 2 to 3 years (4 if you hardly use them). It could be time to replace the battery inside your iPod.

Ipod wont take a charge
your ipod is exhibiting symptoms of a bad motherboard.
I would plug it in the charger with an a/c charger for a while and try it.
If you have been playing this ipod on a dock, chances are it has a bad motherboard.
You also may need a new battery but i don;t think the battery is making your ipod have the symptoms you explained.

i have replaced many motherboards in the 30 gigs due to people playing them on docks and the boards frying, mostly the charging circuit, and the sound. There is also a chip that comes lose on the 30's if your turn the ipod on with a headphones in and squeeze the ipod on the right side of the clickwheel just down from the middle of the click or >> button the ipod may create sound. if so your motherboard needs to be replaced.

5th generation ipod will not charge
It could be something wrong with the main board or a faulty replacement battery.

30 gig Ipod wont come on
Hello HBB-Wildman,

It sounds like the battery in the iPod may have failed. The internal battery pack in the iPod is designed to last a long time but will eventually fail and require replacement.

I would suggest either taking the unit into your local Apple Store or following the procedure on the iPod support page to get service on the unit.

IPod Battery
You should try using a different USB cable and connecting to a different USB port and seeing if the problem persists. If it does, the problem's probably with the iPod's logic board.
