Magnavox converter boxes. Remote controlls are lost. These boxes belong to nursing home residents. They can't watch tv. The boxes can't be turned on with out the remote. Can anyone tell me if there is any remote that will operate these boxes or are they trash now.

Ur free air DTV converter box have problem taking in the programs codes belong to ur tv,belong to the remote.Turn the converter box off/on to reboot ur DTV converter box.Read ur owner manual,re enter ur tv codes,belong to ur tv.U tv should be up and running again.
The problem has been solved. It's my friend's remote that I asked about. The maintenance department replaced it with another one.

Here's a link to Magnavox Customer Support. It lists remote controls for several of their models and, if yours isn't listed, it also lists a universal remote.
Check the converter box. Many have a volume setting that is usually set very low at the factory. On the remote control for the converter check to see if there are volume buttons. If so, change the converter box volume higher, to a level that makes the TV audio level "normal", then use the volume control on the TV for adjustment as you watch. If you set the volume on the converter box too high, you may get some distortion in the audio from your TV. So adjust the converter box to find the proper output from your TV without distortion.
